WORK AND TRADE (27 September 2026)

Open it from the game menu: Life plus, then Work and trade. Or type /worktrade.

Everything below is in that menu; the few typed commands are only shortcuts.

MARKETPLACE STALLS (/marketstall to browse, /openstall to open one)

Put goods from your bag on a stall with an asking price in points. The goods

leave your bag at once and wait on the stall, so nothing can be sold twice.

A buyer can pay the asking price, or haggle: any offer of at least 70 percent

of the asking price is accepted on the spot. You get the money at once, or at

your next login if you are away; the market keeps 5 percent. Up to 3 stalls

each. A stall nobody buys from in 3 days closes and the goods come back.

JOB BOARD (/jobboard)

Ask other players for goods: "bring me 100 wood, I pay 500 points". The reward

leaves your bag when the notice goes up and waits in escrow, so whoever does

the work is always paid. The first player who brings the full amount gets the

reward, and the goods go straight to your bag. Up to 3 notices each, rewards

10 to 20000 points. A notice nobody fills in a week comes down by itself and

the reward is refunded. You can take your own notice down any time.

PRODUCE MARKET (/produce for the spoken price list)

Sell wheat, milk, grapes, raw meat, fish fillets, wool, apples and herbs for

points. Prices change every day. Fish fillets pay less in summer, when fish are

plentiful, and more in winter. The more everybody sells of one thing on a day,

the lower its price goes (down to 30 percent off). Up to 150 of each per player

per day. Wood, ore, raw fish and honey are sold at the Trade exchange (/prices),

and the produce market price list tells you where.

TREASURY REPORT (/treasury)

Where the town treasury's money came from and went in the last 30 days, by

category, read in one page.

Honey blending and the weekly honey contest

Press a jar of your own plain honey with 3 lavender, sunflowers, red roses or

tulips, or 3 pine cones, to make lavender, sunflower, rose, tulip or pine

honey. They are good food. Enter a flavoured jar in the weekly contest, one

entry an hour at most. Flavours few other people have entered score highest.

When the week ends, the winner gets 500 points and the Honey Champion title.

Tea master's blend

Name your own tea blend, then make jars of it from 2 herbs and 1 sugar cane.

Sell them on your marketplace stall.

Signature dish

Name a cooked dish you are carrying. The first player to name a dish owns the

name. From then on, whenever a cook serves that dish at the restaurant table,

the customer hears your dish name.

Mining partnership

Ask a player standing next to you to be your mining partner. Partners may both

work a vein either of them has claimed. When you both strike the same vein

within 20 seconds of each other, a good strike has a 35 percent chance of an

extra piece. The partnership ends when either of you ends it or leaves the game.

Also new in mining: a broken pickaxe leaves its broken head behind, and the

Palmera Bay blacksmith mends it: plain 90, iron 180, bronze 320 points. Some

veins are unusually pure, and a strike on one may give an extra piece.

Engraved weapons

At the Palmera Bay blacksmith's counter (north of Ashby Avenue, west of the

pawn shop), have your name engraved on the grip of a weapon you carry, for 300

points. About one engraving in eight brings out a rare quality in the steel

(Balanced, Keen, Storied or Lucky), with a title to match.

Internships

If you have a trade, you can take a player in their first week as your intern

(Life plus, Work and trade, or your Work and jobs menu). When your intern has

done 20 pieces of your trade's work within 5 days, you get 900 points.

SEED BREEDING KIT (600 points, never wears out)

Use it from your bag while you carry two different seeds. Three crosses work:

apple and peach make honeycrisp apple seed, grape and berry make grapeberry

seed, and watermelon and mango make melomango seed. Plant them like any other

seed. If a pair does not cross, you keep both seeds.

Hunting licence and seasons

March and April are the closed season, when animals are breeding. If you set a

snare then without a licence, it still works, but you are fined 150 points.

A hunting licence costs 800 points, never expires, and ends the fine for good.

Improved elsewhere

- Jobs: going back to an old trade now tells you the seniority you kept (it was

never lost). Doing 100, 1000 and 10000 pieces of work in a trade earns the

titles Journeyman, Veteran and Living Legend of that trade.

- Courier: deliver with 3 minutes or more to spare for a 10 percent early

bonus. When a fragile package cracks, you hear it break.

- Firefighters: now and then a call becomes a big fire. Every on-duty

firefighter hears the siren. It takes two firefighters with extinguishers

within 8 minutes, and the crew shares a 350 point bonus.

- Vets: pet owners can book an appointment 15, 30 or 60 minutes ahead in the

vet career menu. When it is due, any on-duty vet can take it.

- Businesses: after a treat, customers can give 1 to 5 stars, once a day; stars

move the business's reputation. A night manager (4000 points) brings in a

small, capped amount while your shift is closed. In summer treats cost 10

percent less; in winter they warm you a little more.
