Echo valley theme park
A real theme park next to the village, made to be heard: eleven rides with operators, machinery, wind, screams and splashes, food stands, a prize booth and a photo studio. Open everything with /park (also in the Village life menu, More to do, Echo Valley Theme Park).
Getting there
Walk to the Park Express stop on the north street of the village, a little east of the middle, and press shift enter. While you are anywhere in the village you can also choose Take the Park Express in /park. The Express stops at the arrival plaza outside the park gate; the visitor car park is on the west side of the plaza. To go home, press shift enter at the Park Express stop on the south edge of the plaza, or choose it in /park.
The park
Outside the gate: the arrival plaza, the ticket office and the car park.
Echo Boulevard runs north from the gate, with the candy floss cart, the hot dog stand, the popcorn wagon, the lemonade and ice cream parlour, the Snapshot Studio, the Hear the Duck prize booth, guest services and the park map board.
Echo Plaza, with its fountain, is the middle of the park.
West: Mirror Lake, the lakeside promenade and pier, Splash Canyon and the lakeside snack shack.
East: Thunder Frontier, with Thunder Mountain, Crash Kings Bumper Cars, the chuckwagon and Echo Speedway.
North, through the archway of Moonstone Castle: Fantasy Meadow, with the Starlight Carousel, the Whirling Teacups and the Sky Wheel.
North west: Spooky Hollow, with Hollowmoor Manor, the Sky Plunge and, south of Hollow Road, the Splash Tower.
The park map board, and Park map in /park, tell you how many steps away anything is and in which direction.
The rides
Thunder Mountain: a mine train roller coaster. A 40 metre lift hill, a first drop into the canyon, camelback hills, a helix and the thunder tunnel. 8 riders, about 90 seconds.
Splash Canyon: a log flume through a pine canyon, a lift and a big splash. You get soaked. 4 riders, about 80 seconds.
The Sky Wheel: a giant Ferris wheel, 50 metres. A guide tells you what you can hear from the top. 4 riders, about 2 minutes.
The Dreamweaver's Journey: a dark ride in the castle, a story told by the Dreamweaver. 6 riders, about 2 minutes.
The Starlight Carousel: horses that rise and fall and a real band organ. 10 riders, about 75 seconds.
Crash Kings Bumper Cars: YOU drive, with your walking keys. Ram the others; every hit counts. House cars join when the arena is quiet. 8 drivers, 90 seconds of driving.
The Sky Plunge: a drop tower, 65 metres, and a countdown you cannot trust. 8 riders, about 70 seconds.
The Whirling Teacups: turn the wheel in the ride controls to spin faster or slower. 4 riders, about 60 seconds.
Hollowmoor Manor: a haunted walk-through, led by Graves the butler. 6 guests, about 2 minutes.
Echo Speedway: a go-kart race. You drive with your walking keys round a walled track, two laps; the track goes round to your left. Lap records are kept. 6 karts.
The Splash Tower: a water slide. Climb the tower, whoosh down six bends into the pool. 4 riders, about 40 seconds.
Queues
Press shift enter at a ride entrance, or choose the ride in /park, Rides and waiting times, then Join the queue. You stand in a real line with the other players and step forward as it moves; you hear the operator at the front. If you walk away from the queue area you lose your place. /queue tells you your place and the waiting time. You can be in one queue at a time.
When it is your turn you board, the lap bar or harness locks, and the ride plays around you. You move with the ride: up the lift hill, down the drop, round and round. Everybody in the same car hears the same ride and each other. People standing near a ride hear it go by. When the ride is over you are let out at the ride exit.
On the ride
Press shift enter or open /park for the ride controls: Scream, Raise your hands, Hold on tight, Who is riding with me, and on some rides Spin faster or slower (teacups), Rock the gondola (Sky Wheel), Honk and Where are the other cars (bumper cars), Race status (karts). /scream and /handsup work too.
Raise your hands during the big drop (Thunder Mountain, Splash Canyon, the Sky Plunge) to count a brave moment.
If you leave the game or the server restarts during a ride, you are put at the ride exit when you come back, and a ride token or point fare is given back as a ride token.
Tickets
One ride costs one ride token. At the ticket office (outside the gate, or Tickets and passes in /park):
One ride token: 60 ln point. Five ride tokens: 275 ln point.
Day pass: 600 ln point. Every ride is free for 24 hours.
Season pass: 9000 ln point. Every ride is free for 30 days, plus a free ride photo every day.
Passes start when you use them from your bag, so you can buy them for later or give them as presents. Tokens and passes can be traded.
Without a token or a pass, 60 ln point is taken as you board.
Photos
Most rides take a photo of you on the big moment. Buy it at the exit or at the Snapshot Studio within ten minutes, 40 ln point. Your photos are kept in your park album (/park, Your ride photos). The first photo of every ride is also a piece of the Echo Valley Ride Photos collection; the full set of eleven gives a trophy and a scream emote.
Food and drink
Candy floss, toffee apples, hot dogs, cheesy fries, cola, popcorn, lemonade, ice cream, chili, corn on the cob, sarsaparilla, fish and chips, iced tea and sweets, 15 to 45 ln point. You eat on the spot and it really lowers your hunger and thirst. No eating on the rides.
The prize booth
Hear the Duck: three wooden ducks cross the gallery quacking, from one side to the other, loudest right in front of you. Choose Shoot when a duck is in front of you. 0, 1, 2 or 3 hits win 1, 3, 6 or 12 prize tickets.
Ring the Bell: a tone climbs the pole, then falls. Swing at the very top. Ringing the bell wins 10 tickets.
Each game costs 25 ln point; up to 20 games and 150 prize tickets a day.
The prize counter: a plush Thunder bear for 60 tickets (hug it from your bag for 25 energy and 5 health, once every half hour), or a ride token for 40 tickets.
