Sun and sea destinations: port solenne, azure atoll and sakura valley

Three new places you can only reach by plane from the Skyport. You land at each airport on the south edge of the map. The departure desk for the flight back is in the middle of the airport: stand on it and press shift enter. Type /dsa anywhere for the menu. /solenne, /atoll and /sakura open one place directly. In each place the menu gives a guide and directions, with distance, to every person, activity and sight.

How things work

Stand on a person and press shift enter to talk, get quests, buy things or start an activity. Stand on a gathering spot, activity or sight and press shift enter. Quests pay Voyage Tokens, ln point, pass experience and sometimes items, once each. Repeatable ln point rewards in all three places share a daily limit of 900.

Port solenne

A sunny harbour town. Pick green olives in the olive grove east of town, 2 at a time, and press 5 of them into a bottle of Solenne olive oil at the olive press in the olive mill. Pick lemons on the lemon terraces.

Fishing charter: Captain Enzo, at the end of the fishing pier, takes you out on the Stella Maris for 250 ln point, 3 trips a day. When your line jerks, press shift enter within about three seconds. Pressing too early scares the fish. Sardines go in your bag, and the fish market pays for the big fish.

Haggling: Luca at the harbour market buys green olives, olive oil, azure pearls, giant clam shells, sakura petals and bamboo shoots for ln point. His first offer is low. Ask for a little more or a lot more, but if you ask too much his patience runs out and he refuses to deal with you for ten minutes. 5 deals a day.

Boules: Old Marius on the boules court. He throws the jack and his boule. You choose how many paces to throw, or you can shoot to knock his boule away. First to win two ends wins.

Lighthouse night shift: at night in game time, from 20 to 5 o'clock, go to the lamp room at the top of the lighthouse and press shift enter. Ten things happen. If the flame gutters, fog rolls in or a ship's horn sounds, press shift enter. If it is only a bird or the wind, do nothing.

The smugglers' grotto under the northern cliffs is full of snakes and a twisted wolf. The chest at the back holds a new reward every day.

Madame Colette sells lemons and sardines. The sun is warm here: outdoors you get thirsty a little faster.

Azure atoll

A ring of sandy islands around a warm lagoon.

Diving: press shift enter at the pearl reef dive site, south east in the lagoon. You have 30 seconds of breath, 45 with a diving mask, and 10 more if you rent a bungalow. Search the reef with shift enter or from the dive menu, and swim up before your breath runs out. If you run out of breath you drop everything you found and get hurt. You can find up to 3 azure pearls and 4 giant clam shells a day. Watch out for moray eels.

Snorkel tour: from the tour boat at the dive shop jetty. Kai guides you past turtles, the wreck and the blue hole. Your first tour each day pays a Voyage Token.

Outrigger race: at the race start on the north motu. Ten calls come. A wave from the left or coral on your right means lean left. A wave from the right or coral on your left means lean right. Flat water or wind behind you means paddle hard. Answer quickly from the menu. Quick right answers make you faster, and wrong or late answers make you slower.

Bungalows: Moana rents an overwater bungalow for one real day, for 4 Voyage Tokens or 800 ln point. Guests can rest in any bungalow hammock about every 20 minutes to restore health and energy.

The Reef Queen, a huge shark, comes through the reef pass on the east side every few hours, with a warning ten minutes before. Everyone who hits her shares the reward.

Gather sea grapes on the reef flats. Kai sells diving masks. Chef Hina sells sea grapes, and for 60 ln point she serves you a grilled fish plate with a green coconut: a real meal with a drink, once a minute. The sun is hot on the atoll: outdoors you get thirsty a little faster, and after a dive or the snorkel tour you come out soaked, which cools you.

Under water on a dive you cannot eat, drink or use things: swim up first.

Sakura valley

A cool mountain valley of cherry trees, a little town and an old temple. Indoors the cold does not reach you. Kiri Pass is colder than the valley: dress warmly up there.

Hot spring: stand in the hot spring pool east of the inn and press shift enter. Stay in the pool for a full minute. It heals you, restores energy, dries you and takes away all the cold. If you climb out early you are wet and the cold air bites.

Temple bell: at the great bell in the temple grounds, listen to the strikes, then strike back in the same rhythm with shift enter. Each pattern you pass makes the next one longer, up to pattern 8.

Tea ceremony: kneel on the tea mat in the tea house, or ask Tea master Chiyo. Choose the six steps in their proper order. A perfect ceremony gives the best reward.

Cherry Blossom Festival: every day at 12:00 universal time for 20 minutes. Catch falling petals under the cherry trees with shift enter and light a lantern on the lantern walk. The three best petal catchers win Voyage Tokens.

Gather petals under the cherry trees, cut bamboo shoots with a knife in the bamboo grove, and cook your own eggs at the hottest steam vent.

Wolves hunt in Kiri Pass. Old Kuma, the great bear, comes down to the high meadow of the pass every few hours.

Innkeeper Haru sells hot spring eggs and matcha. For 150 ln point you can sleep on a futon at the inn, once every 20 minutes: it restores health and energy and takes away the cold.

New items

Green olives, Solenne olive oil, sun lemon, fresh sardine, azure pearl, giant clam shell, sea grapes, diving mask, sakura petal, bamboo shoot, matcha tea and onsen egg. Green olives, lemons, sardines, sea grapes, bamboo shoots, matcha and onsen eggs can be eaten or drunk; raw olives are bitter and only fill you a little, so they are better pressed into oil. At dawn after a lighthouse shift you drink Sofia's coffee, and when you bring Hina her sea grapes she feeds you.

Courier

Each place has a courier board: the harbour post in the Piazza della Fontana, the atoll post in Motu village and the Hanamura post in town. Press shift enter on the board.

Standing, titles and trophies

Every place by plane remembers you. Your first landing each day, every sight on its sightseeing card, every postcard you send from there, every quest and every victory over its great beasts raise your standing in that place. Three quests done in one place earn the title Friend of that place, six a trophy as its honorary citizen. Your first victory over a great beast such as the Temple Guardian, the Reef Queen or Old Kuma puts a trophy in your cabinet. See the page The travel planner and your travel companion.
