Rides, games and records
What it is
Rides, games and records adds streaks, personal bests, titles and weekly champions to things that are already in the world: bikes, the Palmera Bay coach, teleporter journeys, Hollowmere, the harvest festival, the raffle, the Number Game, the Word Scramble, the Golden Acorn casino, the arena book, the weekly contest and the village games. Open the game menu, choose Village life, then More to do, then Rides, games and records. The shortcut is /rides.
Today's fun card
Every day at midnight by the server clock you are dealt three small things to do, such as taking the coach, finishing a bike trail, finishing a teleporter journey or putting down a zombie. Your card is your own. Finish all three and you get sixty ln points, and five more for every day in a row, up to a hundred. The shortcut is /funcard.
The daily word puzzle
Three scrambled words, the same for everyone, new every day. The letters are read out one by one. Choose a word and type your answer. You may ask for the first letter of each word. Solve all three for thirty ln points, and ten more for every day in a row, up to eighty. The shortcut is /wordday.
Bike trails
Get on your own bike, open Bike trails and pick one: the short sprint of a hundred and fifty steps, the long lap of five hundred, or the endurance road of fifteen hundred. The clock starts at once. Every step your bike carries you counts, on any map. You hear how far you have got at each quarter. A crash ends the run, and there is half an hour at the outside. Your best time on each trail is kept, and racing bikes have their own records. Your first finished trail each day pays thirty ln points, rising by five for each day in a row, up to fifty. The odometer counts every step you ride and gives you titles from Pedal pusher up to Thousand-mile wheel.
The coach stamp card
Every finished coach ride between the village and Palmera Bay puts a stamp on your card. Ten stamps fill it and pay forty ln points. Only one card a day can be cashed. The more you ride, the better your passenger title, up to Coach legend.
The travel album
On a teleporter journey the places you fly over are read out. Every place you have never passed before goes into your album as a sight, with a chime. Milestones at ten, twenty-five, fifty, a hundred, two hundred and four hundred sights give a title and a few ln points, once each.
Hollowmere nights
Go into Hollowmere after dusk and still be inside when the sun comes up, and the night counts toward your survival streak. Leave early or die in there and the streak is over. Every zombie you put down, in Hollowmere or out in the night, counts on the weekly slayer board.
The festival passport
Every harvest festival you work in gets a stamp in your passport. Each day has a name in the festival calendar. The daily festival task is to harvest, forage, fish or take honey five times while a festival is on; it pays fifty-five ln points, and five more for each day in a row, up to seventy. The passport is also in the fishing nets menu.
Game shows
The raffle, the Number Game and the Word Scramble are started by the staff. When one is on, open Game shows to join the raffle, pick your number or type your guess, without any commands.
Raffle streak: join raffles one after another and you get free bonus tickets, one at three in a row and two at six in a row. Bonus tickets only improve your chance; the prize pool never grows from them.
The Number Game has a weekly board: five points for a win, three for being within ten, one for being within a hundred. Word Scramble rounds you win count on their own weekly board.
The casino and the arena
The Golden Acorn gives regular guests a loyalty title, from Bronze guest to Diamond patron. It is a title and nothing more: no free chips and no better odds. You can see it at the cashier. The arena book keeps your tipster record: right picks, wrong picks and your best run. Please play for fun, and remember you can set your own loss limit at the cashier.
The contest and the village games
The weekly contest now gives gold, silver and bronze medals to its top three, kept in the medal cabinet, and you hear a cue when your score reaches ten, twenty-five, fifty, a hundred and more. The village games menu shows this week's winners and how many days in a row you have played.
Weekly champions
All the boards start again when the week turns over. Whoever is on top of a board at that moment is named champion of the week, and it stays on their card for good. You can turn the champion announcements off in Privacy options.
Your card
Your card lists all your titles and records. You can also look at another player's card by typing their name.
Limits
Rewards from all of this together stop at six hundred ln points a day. Nothing here ever gives ln credits.
