Travel gear from the point store
What it is
Eighteen new products in the point store, paid with ln point that you earn by playing. They make the sixteen places by plane, and everyday life, easier and more fun. Buy them in the point store; they go into your bag. Open the travel gear menu with /gear, or from Village life, More to do, Travel gear. The menu lists everything you own, with its state, and choosing a product uses it. You can also hold a product and use it from your bag.
Used up, one at a time
Sunscreen, 120 points: for 30 minutes the desert sun in Marrakai Medina, Pyramid Valley and Caravan Crossroads heats you half as fast. You are warned two minutes before it wears off.
Hand warmers, 100 points: 40 cold gone at once, then for 20 minutes the cold keeps fading and the blizzards of Glacier Station and Snowcrest Resort bite you half as hard.
First aid kit, 350 points: heals 250 health. Once every 3 minutes, never in an arena.
Worn like clothing
Wear these from your bag like any other clothing. They work while you have them on.
Safari sun hat, 2500 points, on your head: the desert sun heats you more slowly. It adds to sunscreen and a desert scarf.
Insulated winter boots, 6000 points, on your feet: very warm, and in a blizzard your legs never freeze solid.
Hiking boots, 5500 points, on your feet: walking costs about half the energy, anywhere.
Rain poncho, 900 points, over your clothes: the rain does not soak you, anywhere.
Carried in your bag
These work by themselves while they are in your bag.
Snorkel and fins, 5000 points: 12 more seconds of breath and faster searching on the pearl reef of Azure Atoll, and more luck at the pearl beds of Aurora Isles.
Climbing harness, 4500 points: more grip on every climbing route in Redstone Canyon, and a fall hurts half as much. On the Sky Bridge and the canopy bridges of Emerald Basin it catches your first slip on each crossing.
Tackle box, 4000 points: herring bite more often at the herring jetty in Fjordheim, you get longer to strike at the ice fishing holes of Snowcrest Resort, and more lake trout at Crystal Lake.
Gear you use
Travel kettle, 2200 points: brew a mug of hot tea almost anywhere. 50 cold and a good deal of thirst gone, a little energy back. Once every 10 minutes. It has an open flame, so it cannot be lit on board a plane or the bus, in a vehicle, standing in water, in an arena or jail, or in the middle of a fight.
Safari binoculars, 3500 points: tells you which animals are within about forty steps, how far and which way, nearest first. On the Savanna Reserve game drive Jabari waits for two more calls.
Bird whistle, 1200 points: blow it and everyone near you hears a songbird. Carried on the canopy platforms of Emerald Basin, rare birds come more often, and blowing it up there starts a bird spotting round.
Head torch, 7500 points: switch it on and off. In the Great Pyramid of Pyramid Valley it counts as a lit tomb torch, with your hands free. The battery gives 45 minutes of light a day and you are warned when it runs low.
Metal detector, 9000 points: stand on sand, on a beach or a dune, and sweep. You find junk, coins, old coins and lost rings worth points, and on the sands of the places by plane now and then a buried Voyage Token, at most one a day. Up to 25 sweeps and 150 points a day. Walk at least five steps between sweeps.
Picnic basket, 2500 points: lay out a picnic on dry ground. You and everyone within a few steps eat, drink and rest. Once every 45 minutes, and each friend can be fed at a picnic once every 30 minutes. Friends who are asleep or in an arena are left out. It cannot be laid out on a plane or the bus, in a vehicle, in an arena or jail, or in the middle of a fight. Sharing it with friends gives Voyager Pass points once a day.
The travel guidebook
800 points. A page for each of the sixteen places by plane: the full guide of that place, the travel gear that helps there, a few words of the local language and the souvenir it is known for. Open it with /guidebook or from the travel gear menu. If you are at a destination, it is listed first.
The souvenir shelf
12000 points. Every place by plane has one signature souvenir: volcanic glass from Aurora Isles, a sun lemon from Port Solenne, an azure pearl from Azure Atoll, a sakura petal from Sakura Valley, a cloudberry from Fjordheim, a meteorite fragment from Glacier Station, an arctic char from Snowcrest Resort, saffron threads from Marrakai Medina, a pottery shard from Pyramid Valley, dried dates from Caravan Crossroads, a cacao pod from Emerald Basin, a safari photo from Savanna Reserve, a canyon fossil from Redstone Canyon, highland wool from the Misty Highlands, Spanish moss from Bayou Town and an arcade token from Neon Harbour. Use the shelf to put them on display; the souvenir leaves your bag for good. Every new place earns a Voyage Token, and a full shelf earns 5 more and is announced to everyone. You can listen to your shelf and show it to the people near you.
