The village newspaper

A new edition of the Village Newspaper comes out every morning at 5 in the morning, server time. It is written from what really happened in the world since the last edition. When a new edition is out, everyone hears a short announcement.

The sections

Front page: the headline of the day and the news in brief.

Local news: newcomers who joined, weddings and engagements, anniversaries, the community project, the travelling merchant, the event of the day, the top explorer of the week and news from the barns.

Sports: the ranked ladder leaders, the weekly cup, new fishing records, the heaviest fish ever caught, water sports records and football scores.

The weather column: rain or dry, and the wind for the morning, afternoon and evening.

Classified ads: small ads written by players.

Letters to the editor: letters written by players and printed by staff.

Puzzle corner: three questions about today's paper and the editor's clue.

This day last week: the front page from seven days ago.

Obituaries: gentle farewells to the legends from the village stories. No real player or animal is harmed.

Fun pages: the joke of the day, a nature fact and a corner tip.

Your day yesterday: how long you played, where you went, how your ln point changed and what you did in the paper.

Back issues: the front pages of the last two weeks.

Read the whole paper at once: every section in one long text.

Reading streak

Read the front page every day to build a reading streak. The paper boy tips you 15 ln point, plus 5 more for each day of your streak, up to 50 a day. Miss a day and the streak starts again.

Puzzle corner

The quiz asks three questions about today's paper, so read it first. Each right answer pays 20 ln point, and you get one try per question. The editor's clue is a crossword style clue with the number of letters given. Type the answer as one word. You have three tries, and it pays 40 ln point.

Classified ads

An ad costs 150 ln point and stays in the paper for 3 days. It may be up to 150 letters long. You can place 2 ads a day and have 2 in the paper at once. Links, rude words and shouting in capital letters are refused. You can take your own ad down at any time, but the fee is not returned.

Letters to the editor

Writing a letter is free, one a day, up to 400 letters. Staff read every letter. A printed letter stays in the paper for three days, and you get 60 ln point the next time you open the paper.

Points

You can earn at most 300 ln point a day from the newspaper.
