New jobs: 24 new professions

Twenty-four brand new careers, none of them existing anywhere else in the

game: Search and Rescue Volunteer, Fish Farm Operator, Jeweler, Carpenter,

Clock Repairer, Mountain Guide, Archaeologist, Photographer, Club DJ, Fashion

Designer, Gardener, Cleaner, Security Guard, Marine Biologist, Meteorologist,

Radio Host, Referee, Translator, Real Estate Agent, Sculptor, Ambulance

Driver, Librarian, Toy Maker and Perfumer. Open the New Jobs menu from

Life plus (in the game menu) or type /morejobs. Each career also answers its

own shortcut command, e.g. /sar, /jew, /crp, /tra, /rea.

Getting hired

Every career is free to join. Open its menu and choose Get hired: you get

the career's tool or uniform in your bag and your first rank (Trainee).

Using the item from your bag takes it out to hand.

Going on duty and working

Once hired, go on duty from the career's menu, then use "Find the next

job / do the work" (or the career's own special action, listed below). Most

careers post real customer requests to a shared board: anyone, hired or not,

can post one from the career's menu, and any on-duty worker of that career

picks up the oldest one waiting. If nobody has posted, you can usually still

practise solo for smaller experience.

Ranks and pay

Every career shares the same four-tier ladder: Trainee <career>, plain

<career>, Senior <career>, Master <career>, gained through experience from

completed jobs; each promotion is a real title you can wear from the titles

menu. Pay per job is small (6-14 ln point) and capped per career per player

per day. None of this ever creates ln_credit.

Search and rescue volunteer

Anyone can signal for help with /rescuecall or "Signal for help" in the menu (once

every ten minutes). Every on-duty volunteer hears it at once with the

caller's map. Go there yourself, then use "I found them" once you are within

a few steps of them to complete the rescue.

Fish farm operator

Feed the farm, then come back roughly two hours later to collect a real

harvest of fish. No customer needed; this is your own small business.

Jeweler

Needs 1 rough gem on hand. Post or pick up a request for a gem cut (round,

oval, princess, emerald or brilliant); delivers a real cut gem to the client.

Carpenter

Needs 3 wood on hand. Builds a custom furniture design (oak, pine, walnut,

birch or cedar) and unlocks a real home look for the client.

Clock repairer

Repairs a customer's timepiece (pocket watch, wall clock, cuckoo clock,

mantel clock or wristwatch) and hands back a real repaired keepsake.

Mountain guide

Leads a guided climb up a real route and unlocks a summit badge look for

the client.

Archaeologist

Digs, and about a third of the time turns up a real find (a relic) worth

sending to a client or keeping for the museum. Every dig counts towards

your day's work either way.

Photographer

Needs your camera bag on hand. Shoots a real photograph (portrait, candid,

scenic, group or action) and delivers a keepsake photo to the client.

Club dj

Play a set wherever people are gathered (within fifteen steps); pay scales

with how many people are actually listening. Once an hour each, listeners

get a small energy lift too.

Fashion designer

Designs a clothing collection (vintage, sport, glam, street or formal) and

unlocks a real look for the client.

Gardener

Takes on a garden maintenance contract (rose, tulip, lavender, wildflower or

herb) and unlocks a real garden design look for the client.

Cleaner

Takes on a paid cleaning job (kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom or

whole house); the client gets a real energy top-up and a good feeling

about the place.

Security guard

Anyone can request protection for an event, a home or anything else with a

short note; an on-duty guard picks it up and stands watch, with a small

energy top-up for the client.

Marine biologist

Logs a dive every twenty minutes, recording a real species sighting

(clownfish, sea turtle, reef shark and more) towards your own collection.

Meteorologist

Puts out one forecast a day (clear or rain); players who turn on weather

news (New Jobs menu) hear it. Check your forecast later against the real

weather for a bonus if you called it right.

Radio host

Anyone can tune in from the New Jobs menu. Go on air (once every ten

minutes) to type a short segment; every listener online hears it and pay

scales with the audience.

Referee

Picks two consenting nearby players and referees a fair friendly match

between them with a whistle and a coin-fair result. Purely for fun; no

points move between the players.

Translator

Anyone can request help in a language from the New Jobs menu. An on-duty

translator picks it up and types the real translation or help themselves,

relayed straight to the requester.

Real estate agent

Lists a client's property (a short description and an asking price in ln

point) on the shared board. Any player can browse and buy a listing: the

seller is paid automatically, and the listing agent earns a 5% commission,

paid the moment it sells.

Sculptor

Carves a statue (village hero, local wildlife, an abstract form, the

village founder, or a favourite animal) for the public Town Gallery,

credited with your name; browsable by anyone from the New Jobs menu.

Ambulance driver

Anyone can call an ambulance; an on-duty driver has to reach the caller in

person (same map, a few steps away) before treating them for a real energy

top-up.

Librarian

Anyone can borrow one of eight curated books; an on-duty librarian issues

it as a real keepsake book you can read from your bag.

Toy maker

Needs 1 wood on hand. Builds a handmade toy (wooden train, rag doll,

spinning top, puppet or toy boat) and delivers a real keepsake to the

client.

Perfumer

Blends a real scent (rose, lavender, citrus, vanilla or pine) and delivers

a bottled perfume keepsake to the client.
