The hearth guild: craft, home and nature

Type /hearth any time to open the Hearth Guild menu. It is also listed under More to do in the village menu.

What it is

The Hearth Guild is eleven small workshops and clubs, all about working with your hands, decorating your home and looking after nature around it. Most of it uses materials you already gather: hide and leather, wool, stone, wood and plank, wild flowers, beeswax, fat and fish. A few stations are bought once with ln point and are yours for good after that.

THE HANDCRAFT WORKSHOP (/tannery or /handcraft)

Four stations, each bought once:

- The Tannery Rack stitches leather into a satchel or gloves (3 leather each), and a leatherbound journal (2 leather, 1 plank) you can write in and read back any time.

- The Loom and Dye Workshop weaves and dyes handwoven curtains (3 wool, 2 wild flowers) to hang in your home for good.

- The Stonecutter's Yard carves a garden bench, fountain or statue (4 stone each) to set in your garden for good.

- The Woodcarver's Bench carves small keepsakes for a shelf collection (2 wood), and a door nameplate you can burn your own short text into (1 wood, 1 plank).

Use My handcraft home in the workshop menu to see everything you have made.

BASKETS AND ROPE (/basketry or /weave)

The Weaving Frame (bought once) weaves a display basket (3 wood, 2 wild flowers) and twists rope (2 wood). Wrap a rope coil, a scented candle and a bar of herbal soap into a gift hamper and send it to another online player.

THE CANDLE AND SOAP ATELIER (/atelier)

Bought once. Makes scented candles (2 beeswax, 1 wild flower) and herbal soap (2 fat, 1 wild flower). Light twenty candles for the title the Candlelit; use twenty soaps for the title the Well Kept.

THE FIX-IT WORKSHOP (/scavenge or /fixit)

Free. Scavenge the yard for salvaged scrap on a cooldown, then upcycle three scrap at a time into a piece for the Salvage Workshop collection.

WORM FARM AND WATER GARDEN (/wormfarm or /watergarden)

The worm farm bin (bought once) turns two compost or manure into rich compost after about six real hours. The water garden (bought once, needs 4 stone and 2 wood) can be stocked with fish (1 raw fish each) and fed rich compost; feeding it raises its mood, and now and then a rare koi turns up for the collection.

THE HERBARIUM AND SEASONAL ALMANAC (/herbarium or /almanac)

Press a wild flower into the herbarium (short wait between pressings) toward the Herbarium collection. Read the almanac's page for the week, and mark today for a free daily streak; sixty days running earns the title the Almanac Keeper.

BACKYARD HABITAT (/habitat or /birdhouse)

Build a birdhouse (bought once, 3 wood, 1 wild flower) and a night feeder (bought once, 2 raw meat). Check each once a day for a chance of a new visitor toward two separate collections, daytime birds and night animals.

THE HEIRLOOM SEED VAULT (/seedvault)

Open a mystery seed packet (60 ln point) for a chance at a heirloom variety; one variety is featured each week with better odds. Once you hold the right pair of varieties, cross-breed a hybrid at no extra cost.

HOME GUESTBOOK AND HOUSEWARMING (/guestbook or /housewarming)

Leave a short note in another player's guestbook (once per person per day). Read your own guestbook any time. Host a housewarming party once a day to let everyone know; your first one earns a trophy. Twenty five notes received earns the title the Welcoming Host.

THE CRAFT ORDER BOARD (/orderboard)

Three orders a day, the same for everyone, asking for a specific handcrafted item for a modest ln point reward (capped at three fulfilled orders a day). One featured weekly commission asks for something bigger and pays in a ribbon for the Guild Commissioner collection instead of points.
