Fun and competitions

Open it from the game menu: Life plus, Fun and competitions. Or type /fun. Every game here keeps a weekly table (Monday to Sunday). Each winner gets a title, a trophy for the trophy cabinet and 300 points. Points from these games are capped at 600 a day. Type /weekly to hear the tables.

Weekly tables

Futsal golden boot, heaviest fish, casino poker, dance contest, show jumping, bike track, cave run, mountain climbing, hourly quiz, word chain, chess tournament, treasure hunt, karaoke voice of the week and the costume party. Timed events also keep an all-time record.

Futsal

Every goal in a real match counts for the golden boot. At the final whistle every player of the match gets the match summary with the golden boot race. The last summary is in the Fun menu.

Fishing tournament

Every fish you catch is weighed automatically. Your heaviest fish of the week counts.

Arena teams and seasons

Form a team of up to four players. Every arena win by a member scores 3 points for the team. A season lasts four weeks: the top three teams get trophies, the champions also a title and points.

Live arena odds

Switch the odds calls on in the Fun menu and you hear what each fighter pays for every point staked, and how many arena wins they have, whenever the arena book changes.

Chess rating and tournament

Every finished chess game is rated (Elo, everybody starts at 1200) and scores tournament points: 3 for a win, 1 for a draw. A pair of players counts at most 3 rated games a day.

Watch a board game

Fun menu, Watch a board game. Choose a game and every move is read to you. You can ask for the board at any time.

Rare finds

When somebody finds a rare item (such as a black pearl, a fire opal or a sky crystal) everybody who has rare find announcements on hears about it. Switch it in the Fun menu or under Privacy, announcements.

GAMES TO PLAY (Fun menu, Games, or /games)

Casino poker tournament: five-card draw against the house table, 5 free tournament hands a day. Hold cards, draw once. Royal flush 800 chips, straight flush 500, four of a kind 250, full house 90, flush 60, straight 40, three of a kind 30, two pair 20, jacks or better 10.

Dance contest: a caller calls a move on every beat. The menu always has the four moves in the same order: step left, step right, spin, clap. Pick the right one fast: 15 for perfect, 10 for good, 5 for late. Twelve calls. Score 150 or more to unlock the showstopper dance emote.

Show jumping: eight fences. Each fence is announced; wait for NOW, then choose Jump at once. Too early or too late knocks a pole down: 4 seconds added. A clear round earns a rosette.

Bike track: get on a bicycle and start. Checkpoints call you with a beacon sound every two seconds; ride to each one. Skipping a checkpoint adds 20 seconds.

Cave run: the same, on foot, inside a cave, a mine or a tunnel.

Mountain climb: five minutes to climb as high above your starting spot as you can. Jumping does not count. 40 steps up earns the title Summiteer.

You can play dance and show jumping ten times a day each.

Weekly treasure hunt

Three chests are hidden each week in the big outdoor maps, one after another. Fun menu, Games, Treasure hunt: listen for the chest. On another map you are told where it is; on the right map you hear how warm you are, and within 60 steps you hear the chest itself. Stand on it and press shift enter to dig. The finder gets a rare item, 250 points and a trophy.

Hourly quiz

Switch the quiz announcements on in the Games menu. A question comes every hour on the hour; answer with /qa (or /quizanswer) followed by your answer, or from the menu. The first three right answers score 60, 40 and 20 points.

Word chain channel

Join the word channel in the Games menu. Members hear each other (/wc followed by your message) and play a running word chain (/word followed by a word): each word must start with the last letter of the word before. Longer words score more. A chain ends after 10 quiet minutes or 60 words.

MUSIC, STAGE AND FESTIVALS (Fun menu, Music, stage and festivals)

Piano recordings: sit at a piano, start a recording, play. Keep three recordings, publish them, and listen to other players' recordings. You can also play a recording aloud for everybody around you. Command: /pianorec.

Shared playlists: put one of your music box playlists on the shared board, send a copy to a friend, or copy a shared playlist into a free slot.

AudioWander radio: the list of our community radio stations. Choosing one opens the station page, where you can listen live. Command: /awradio.

Karaoke stage: take the stage and sing with your voice chat. When you finish, everybody within 25 steps can give 1 to 5 stars. The stars count for Voice of the Week. Three songs a day. Command: /stage.

Seasonal festivals: the Harvest Festival (September to November) and the Winter Festival (December to February). Give seasonal goods to the village basket; each item is one festival point. At 50, 200 and 500 points of your own you earn an emote, a ribbon and a title. When the village reaches 5000, every giver gets the festival trophy. Command: /seasonfest.

Costume party: describe the costume you wear and vote for your favourite (one vote, you can move it). Most votes by Sunday night wins Best Dressed. Command: /costume.

Hide and seek

In hide and seek, the seeker now also hears a twig snap at the nearest hider's spot when they are within 40 steps, every 20 seconds. The hider is told when it happens.
