Far destinations by plane: vinecrest hills, ember isle, lantern bay, amber steppe and the sunken city
Five new places you can only reach by plane from the Skyport. Every one has its airport in the south, where you land; the departure desk for the flight home is there too, six steps south of where you land. Type /far for the menu of all five anywhere, or /vinecrest, /emberisle, /lanternbay, /steppe or /sunken for one place. The menu has a guide for each place, directions to every person, activity, workbench and sight, your quests, your standing and keepsakes, the festivals and bosses, what you can still do today, and the records. Every spot is a zone you can track.
How it works everywhere
Stand on a person and press shift enter to talk: quests, shops, meals and services. Stand on a gathering spot, a workbench, an activity or a sight and press shift enter to use it. Tools: any pickaxe breaks obsidian; a knife cuts bamboo and shears wool. Sights you look at for the first time give pass XP and reputation, and seeing every sight of a place gives 3 Voyage Tokens.
Standing and rewards
Each place has its own standing, the same one you see in the rewards menu: Stranger, Visitor at 100 reputation, Friend at 500, Trusted at 1500, Honoured at 4000 and Legend at 10000. Everyday things (gathering, making, offerings, games) give up to 80 reputation a day per place; quests, festivals and bosses give more on top. Standing opens better goods and recipes: Vinecrest red at Visitor, the nomad felt blanket at Friend, the Emberheart amulet and Vinecrest Reserve at Trusted. Honoured and Legend earn titles from the rewards menu.
Every place has ten quests in story chains. Besides Voyage Tokens, pass XP and ln point, they give keepsakes for five collections (five keepsakes each), titles (Vintner of Vinecrest, Fire Walker of Ember Isle, Keeper of Lanterns, Eagle Hunter of the Steppe, Reader of the Last Tide), trophies for your cabinet and unlocks (a third wine cask, the sky lantern recipe, your own horse, the eagle glove, the brass diving helmet). Finishing all ten quests of a place gives 10 Voyage Tokens, 150 reputation and a trophy.
Vinecrest hills
Vineyards and olive groves around a stone village. Pick grapes in the high vineyards (up to 40 a day). Take 6 bunches to the great stomping vat in the village square and stomp: press shift enter on every stomp, hold still on every rest. The must goes into your own oak cask in the cellars east of the winery and is wine after 2 hours: two bottles of Vinecrest red, or a Reserve and a red if your stomp scored 80 or more. You have 2 casks, 3 after Bastien's quest. Sit at Bastien's tasting table and name three wines by taste; the wine card is in the guide. Dig truffles under the oaks; Nonna Pia cooks them for free and serves truffle tagliatelle. The Harvest Festival (see the menu for the days and time): stomp without grapes, the best stomper is crowned.
Ember isle
A volcano island. Break obsidian at the quarry with a pickaxe, scrape sulphur at the fumaroles, knap 3 shards into polished obsidian at Hekla's bench. Walk the lava tubes with Kaimana: answer every warning from the menu; mistakes burn, a clean walk may find a fire opal. Soak 40 seconds in the hot spring to heal and warm up. Take seismograph readings in the observatory. Make offerings at the shrine of the fire goddess. The Emberheart amulet (2 polished obsidian and a fire opal, Trusted standing) warms you through and gives energy, once every 20 minutes, forever. During an eruption gather lava pearls at the glowing lava front, and fight the Cinder Wolf together.
Lantern bay
A harbour town with a night market. Peel mulberry bark, make rice paper at the vat in Wen's workshop, cut bamboo with a knife, and build paper lanterns at Wen's bench (2 bamboo, 1 rice paper, 1 candle). Release them from the end of the Lantern Pier. Sail the Red Crane with Captain Jiro, play ring toss at night on Lantern Street for lucky red envelopes, have your fortune read by Madam Lin once a day, and make offerings at the altar of the sea goddess. The Lantern Festival: release lanterns, sky lanterns count three; 60 lanterns in one festival gives everyone who released one a bonus.
Amber steppe
Yurts, horses and eagles. Race on Saran's track (answer each call from the menu; under 60 seconds earns you your own horse). Hunt with the eagle Altai from the crag once Khulan trusts you: release her only at real prey. Shear wool, roll felt with Oyun, and stitch a nomad felt blanket that gives energy and warmth every 30 minutes, forever. Make offerings at the great ovoo. Batu pours free milk tea. The Naadam: races, wrestling bouts and eagle catches all score; the best is Champion of the Naadam.
The sunken city
A drowned city of canals. Go down in the diving bell with Corvin: 40 seconds of air, 60 with the brass helmet. Search with shift enter for sunken coins, coral crusted relics, mussels and, once a day at most, a drowned tablet. Surface in time or you lose your finds. Restore relics at Ysolde's bench and donate them to the Drowned Archive. Bring tablets to Thessaly to read the story of the Last Tide. Race Nico's gondola, and pay Marta at the Last Dry Tavern in sunken coins. The Drowned Guardian, a monstrous shark, rises into the flooded palace court: fight it together.
Festivals and bosses
Each festival runs twice a week at a fixed hour in universal time; the menu says when. Everyone who takes part gets Voyage Tokens, pass XP, reputation and some ln point; the winner gets a title and a trophy. Bosses share the reward with everyone who strikes them, up to twice a day; the one who deals the most damage gets a trophy.
Limits
ln point from everyday activities here is capped at 900 a day for all five places together. Voyage Tokens follow the normal token limits. Nothing sold here is bought back here.
