Community projects and festivals
What it is
Every week the whole world builds something together. The projects come round in turn: a new river bridge, the village fountain, the lighthouse lamp, a music stage and the harvest hall. Nobody can build them alone. When one is finished, everybody celebrates with a weekend festival.
Where to find it
Open the game menu, choose Village life, then More to do, then Community projects and festivals. The shortcut is to type /project.
Giving materials
Choose Give materials from your bag. The menu lists everything the builders want that you are carrying, how many you have, and how many building units each one is worth. Each project wants its own materials, such as wood, planks, stone, rocks, metal, iron bars, copper bars, glass, clay, sand, candles, sunflower oil, leather, branches or wheat. The builders also always need food: apples, bread, eatable fish, cheese, eggs, milk, honey jars and wild mushrooms.
Pick an item, then pick how many, or type an amount. Whatever you give is used up by the builders and is gone for good. If the project needs less than you offer, only what is needed is taken and you keep the rest.
You cannot give from an arena bag.
Giving points
Choose Give ln point to pay the builders. Every ten points counts as one building unit. The points leave the game altogether; they do not go to anybody.
Daily limits
In one day one person can give up to three thousand units of materials and up to twenty thousand points. The day rolls over on its own.
Stages
Every project has five stages, at twenty, forty, sixty, eighty and a hundred percent. When a stage is reached, a short story of the building work is told to everyone. You can turn these announcements off in Privacy options, under Community projects.
Choose Project status to hear the percent, the stage, how many neighbours have helped, what you have given and how much the next stage needs.
The festival
When a project is finished, a festival is held on the next weekend, Saturday and Sunday by server time. If the project finishes during a weekend, the festival starts straight away and lasts at least a day. Choose Festival schedule to hear when it starts or ends. While a project waits for its festival, giving is closed. When the festival ends, the next project begins.
Festival games
Choose The festival: games and prizes while the festival is on. The festival games cannot be played from jail or with an arena bag.
Guess the weight: guess how many kilograms a prize pumpkin, cheese or apple basket weighs. Three guesses a festival. The closer you are, the more tokens.
Release a lantern: choose a wish and let a paper lantern rise into the sky. Three lanterns a festival.
Join the dance: the fiddler calls four moves once. Remember them, then dance them from the menu. Three dances a festival.
The pie contest: bake one pie a festival. A filling from your own bag, such as an apple, a honey jar, cheese or a wild mushroom, impresses the judges more, and that filling is used up. The plain pie from the festival kitchen is free. The best pie when the festival ends wins the Pie Champion title.
Tokens and prizes
Every game gives festival tokens. Tokens count towards festival titles. If you gave at least twenty building units to the project, each token also pays ten points, up to three hundred points in one festival. Tokens themselves cannot be traded or spent.
Titles and ranks
Choose Your donor rank and titles to hear your place among this project's donors and among all builders of all time.
Thank-you titles for giving: Helping Hand at fifty units, Village Builder at two hundred and fifty, Pillar of the Community at a thousand, Master Builder at three thousand and Founder of the Realm at eight thousand.
Festival titles: Festival Guest at ten tokens, Merrymaker at thirty, Lantern Bearer at sixty, Heart of the Festival at a hundred and twenty and Festival Legend at two hundred and fifty.
Special titles: Pie Champion, and Monument Name for being among the ten biggest donors of a finished project.
You can choose which title you wear. It is shown next to your name on the donor boards and the monument plaques. Titles are for show only.
Boards, history and plaques
Top donors of this project lists the twenty biggest givers right now. All-time builders counts every project.
Project history lists every finished project, how many neighbours built it and when.
Monument plaques: every finished project gets a plaque with the names of its ten biggest donors, kept forever. Choose one to read it.
