The wine cellar

What it is

A cellar is a small cool room of your own with shelves in it. You put something on a shelf and time does the work: it ripens on its own whether you are online or not, and nothing on a shelf ever spoils.

Building one

You need a cellar kit. Set it down like any other building, and go in with shift and enter at the door. Married couples share a cellar: both of you see the same shelves and either of you may take from them.

Wine, step by step

Crush ten grapes in a pot and you have grape must. Put the must on a shelf and leave it.

After about six hours it is young wine.

After a day more it is aged wine.

After three days more it is vintage wine, the best bottle in the country.

Take it off the shelf whenever you like; you do not have to wait for the last step. Every step is worth more than the last, in points and to drink.

Drinking it

Wine is a drink like any other: it quenches thirst, and it goes to your head. Young wine is the gentlest, vintage the strongest, so treat it with respect if you are going anywhere afterwards.

Cheese

Milk and rennet give plain cheese. On a shelf it becomes matured cheese in eight hours and old cheese in two days more.

Keeping it

Anything from the cellar can go into a fridge, at home or in a shelter, along with the rest of your food and drink.

Moving the cellar

A cellar is no longer fixed where you first built it. Take everything off the shelves, stand at the cellar, press shift and enter and choose to take the cellar up. The kit goes back into your bag and you set it down again in your new home, exactly as you did the first time. Only the owner can do this, and only when every shelf is empty, so nothing can be lost in the move.
