Accessibility tools (27 September 2026)

Everything here is also in the game menu: Life plus, then Accessibility tools. You can also type /access.

Accessibility tools menu (server side)

- Listen to a short description of this map (/maptour): the map's name and its notable places, read from the map itself.

- Where am I (/whereami, or F7): your map, your floor, the name of the area you stand in and the nearest exit or door close by.

- Who is nearby (/crowd): how many other players are on this map and who is within about 60 squares.

- Give me a tip (/guide): a short useful hint, any time.

- New-player tutorial (/tutorial, /tutorial done): seven small steps for new players. Finishing all of them gives the title "Newcomer no more" and 50 points, once per account.

- Summary of what I am working on (/quests, or Shift+F7): your tutorial step and any reminder you have waiting.

- Voice notebook (/notes, /note text): up to 30 short personal notes, read back by your screen reader.

- Set a reminder (/remind minutes text): for example /remind 10 check the oven. A chime and the text arrive when the time is up (1 to 1440 minutes, while the server is running).

- Find a friend (/findfriend name): for mutual friends on the same map only. Tells you how far away they are and in which clock direction, for example "at your 2 o'clock".

- Route recorder (/route start, /route stop, /route replay): records where you walk (a point every 3 seconds, up to 100 points) and reads the route back to you.

- Call for help (/helpme): sends a short alert with your place to all staff who are online. Once every 3 minutes. For anything that can wait, please write a ticket.

- When you log in, the game tells you where you are and whether a tutorial step or reminder is waiting.

Settings menu (game menu, settings)

- Menu reading speed: Slow, Normal or Fast for the game's own voice.

- Sound levels: a master voice chat volume from 0 to 200 percent. It sits on top of the volume you set for single players, so those stay as they are.

- Keyboard shortcuts: a list you can search by typing a word. Also in the main menu.

- Abbreviated long messages: long one-off server messages are cut after the first sentence. Press Shift+F11 to hear the rest.

- Custom chat tone for a friend: pick a different sound for private messages from a given friend.

- Wall proximity warning: a sonar tick plays when a wall comes within 3 squares ahead of you, and it gets louder and higher as the wall gets closer.

- Vibration for important sounds: a game controller vibrates on private messages, reminders and help calls. Phone vibration itself needs an engine update and will follow.

- Private messages, reminders and other important sounds now have their own sound channel, so they are heard even in a very noisy scene.

Keys

- Shift+F1 inside a menu: explains the item you are on, where an explanation exists.

- F7: where am I. Shift+F7: summary of what you are working on. F11: copy the last 10 lines the game said to the clipboard. Shift+F11: hear the rest of a shortened message. (These are the free function keys; F1-F6, F8, F9 and F12 keep their old jobs.)

- Menus remember the item you last chose and start there when you come back to them.

- K list: tracking beacons now sound higher when the target is above you and lower when it is below you.

- Shift+3: clock-direction compass to the thing you are tracking, for example "about 12 squares away, at your 3 o'clock".

- Control+Backspace: walk to the tracked target by itself. Pressing any movement key, losing the target or arriving stops the walk.

In the bag

- Alt+F: filter the bag by typing part of a name. Leave it empty to show the category again.

- Alt+U: your most used items, up to 10.

- Alt+Page Up and Alt+Page Down: move the current category earlier or later. Your order is saved.

- Control+F still jumps to the next matching item.
