CLUBS
WHAT A CLUB IS
A club is a group you build yourself, with three things of its own: a radio channel only members can hear, a store where members leave things for each other, and a purse where members put points towards whatever the club is saving for. It is nothing to do with your group or your family. You can be in one club at a time.
STARTING ONE
Open the game menu, choose Village life, then Work and money, then Clubs. Choose to start a club of your own. It costs twenty thousand points, and those points leave the game altogether; they do not go to anybody. Pick a name of up to twenty-eight letters. Your club is given a free radio channel automatically, so you never have to pick a number or worry about clashing with somebody else.
A club holds up to thirty members.
RANKS
There are three ranks. The founder is the owner. The owner can make any member an officer, and take it back again. Officers can bring people in, put people out, and take points out of the purse. Ordinary members can talk on the channel, use the store and put points in.
Only the owner can close the club down.
THE STORE
The club store holds up to sixty different kinds of thing. Any member can leave something there and any member can take something out. It is meant for the club to pool what it has: bait, food, tools, materials.
THE PURSE
Any member can put points into the purse. Officers and the owner can take points out. Every withdrawal is announced to the whole club, with who took it and how much, so nobody can quietly empty it.
There are daily limits, and they exist so a club cannot be used to move a fortune from one account to another. In one day one member can put in at most fifty thousand points, take out at most twenty-five thousand, and take at most a hundred items out of the store. The day rolls over on its own.
CLOSING A CLUB DOWN
The owner can close the club, but not while there is anything left in it. Empty the purse and empty the store first. This is on purpose: it means a club cannot be closed with members' things still inside it.
WHAT A CLUB IS NOT
A club does not make you stronger, richer or faster. It gives you somewhere to talk, somewhere to share, and something to save towards together.
