HOW GOOD YOU ARE AT A TRADE

WHERE TO SEE IT
Open the game menu, choose Village life, then Work and money, then Work and jobs, and choose "How good you are at each trade". It lists every trade you have done any work in, what level you are at, and how many jobs it takes to reach the next one.

HOW IT GOES UP
Doing the work is the only thing that moves it. Every job you finish counts, whether it is the trade you are signed up to or not. Fishing makes you better at fishing even if you are paid as a miner.

THE LEVELS
There are ten levels. Level one is a beginner. From level two you are improving, from four practised, from six seasoned, from eight expert, and level ten is a master.
The jobs needed are: level two at a hundred jobs, three at three hundred, four at six hundred, five at a thousand, six at fifteen hundred, seven at twenty-one hundred, eight at twenty-eight hundred, nine at thirty-six hundred, and ten at forty-five hundred. Level ten is meant to take months. It is a long road on purpose.

WHAT A LEVEL ACTUALLY DOES
This is the important part. Being good at something never makes you produce MORE. It makes what you produce BETTER. A skilled fisher lands a heavier fish, not more fish. A skilled cook turns out a finer meal from the same ingredients. A skilled beekeeper draws a richer comb.
That is deliberate. It means skill is worth having and worth showing off, without a handful of long-standing players flooding the world with goods and pushing everybody else out of the market.

TRADES THAT COUNT
Fisher, miner, farmer, beekeeper, cook, cleaner, forager, police, barber, tailor, restaurant cook, barman, musician, watchman, teacher and guide.

MASTER AND APPRENTICE
Separate from this, and worth knowing about: under Work and money you can take a beginner on as an apprentice, or find somebody to learn from. That is a person-to-person arrangement. Your level here is what tells a beginner you are worth learning from.
