YOUR OWN MARKET STALL

WHERE IT IS
Open the game menu, choose Village life, then Work and money. In there you will find your own stall, what is on the market right now, stalls near you, and what things are selling for.

SETTING ONE UP
A stall costs two thousand five hundred points to set up. Put it down somewhere people pass, stock it from your bag, and set a price on each thing. People buy from it whether you are standing there or not; the points come to you.

WHAT YOU MAY CHARGE
There is a ceiling on the price of every item: three times what the item is worth. What it is worth is taken from the shop price where the game sells it; if the game does not sell it anywhere, it is treated as being worth four hundred points.
Three times is generous. It leaves plenty of room to make a proper profit on something rare or something you had to work for. What it stops is a stall asking a million points for a loaf of bread, which is not trading, it is moving a fortune from one account to another with an item as the excuse.
If you try to set a price above the ceiling you are told what the ceiling is for that item.

THE DAILY LIMIT
One stall can take in fifty thousand points in a day. When the limit is reached the stall stops selling until the day rolls over, which happens on its own.
The check happens BEFORE the sale goes through, not after, so a sale never half-completes: either the buyer pays and gets the goods, or nothing happens at all and nobody loses anything.
Fifty thousand a day is far more than ordinary trading needs. It is there so that a stall cannot be used to hand somebody an unlimited pile of points.

THE MARKET BOARD
"What things are selling for at the market" shows a live board: what is actually on sale right now across the stalls and at what price. Use it before you set your own prices, and use it before you pay somebody else's. It covers up to forty stalls at a time.

YOUR SALES HISTORY
"Your trading record" keeps your last two hundred sales: what sold, how many, for how much and to whom. It also works out what sells best for you. If something has been sitting on your stall for days, the record is what tells you to drop the price or stock something else.

TRADING SAFELY
Buying and selling face to face is under Trade with someone standing near you, which holds both sides until you both agree. If somebody cheats you in a deal, report it from the same menu. A stall never cheats you: the price shown is the price paid.
