Zero Hour Assault: Game Guide
Introduction
Zero Hour Assault is an online first-person shooter that you play entirely by sound.
You move, aim, drive and fight by ear, against players from around the world and against computer-controlled fighters called bots.
The game speaks through your screen reader, or through its own speech when no screen reader is running.
The screen shows what you can do at the moment. While you play, it lists the keys (on Windows) or the gestures (on Android, as a map of the screen) for your situation: on foot, on a motor or bike, in the helicopter, watching a match and so on, together with your map, both hands, area and the last spoken message. Menus, messages and text boxes are shown in large, high-contrast text in your game language.
Play one of twenty match modes, or parachute into Brackenford, the freedom fight city where the fight never stops.
Use stereo headphones. Every sound is placed around you: left, right, in front, behind, above and below.
The currency of the game is zero tokens. You earn them by playing and spend them in the store.
Website of the game: https://audiowander.com/zero-hour-assault.php
On the website you find every match mode, who is playing right now, the scoreboards, the latest changes, the message of the day, the main controls and answers to common questions.
This guide uses keyboard keys for Windows, and gives the touch gesture for Android in brackets. The full lists of keys and gestures are at the end.
Servers: Windows and Mobile
Windows players and mobile players (Android, iPhone and iPad) play on separate servers. This is on purpose.
Windows players have a keyboard, while many phone players play with touch only. Separate servers keep the game fair for touch players.
Android, iPhone and iPad share the mobile server.
A mobile player who wants to face Windows players can choose the Windows server under "choose server" in the main menu.
The Windows game has no server choice, so the mobile server stays a fair place for touch players.
On the mobile server the game is played with touch gestures only. A physical keyboard on a phone works only on the Windows server.
On Android, a phone that types letters or digits on the mobile server is disconnected, to keep the mobile server fair.
Each server has its own accounts, scoreboards and store prices. An account made on one server does not exist on the other.
On the mobile server, the daily login calendar, the paid account daily bonus and the prices in the New items menu follow the mobile store prices.
The Main Menu
Windows: "Login Options", "settings", "Learn game sounds", "View ranking list", "View game readme file", "View game rules", "View privacy", "Make us a small donation", "join the official telegram group of Zero Hour Assault" and "Exit the game".
Android adds "choose server" at the top and "View touch screen gestures", which lists every gesture. There the guide is called "View game guide".
"Login Options": "Sign in as" your saved account, "setup an existing account", "Create An Account" and "Recover your password".
In the new game version, if the server does not answer for 30 seconds while you are logging in, the game says "The server did not respond. Please try again later." and takes you back to the Login Options menu.
In the new game version, if the connection is lost while you are logging in, the game says "Connection lost from the server." and takes you back to the Login Options menu. Try again a little later.
"View ranking list" lists the score points and ranks of all players.
Players who are online are listed with their newest score.
Escape (on Android, the back button) in the main menu asks whether you want to quit.
Getting Started
Your account
Create an account from the main menu: a name, a password and an e-mail address that you can reach.
Your e-mail address is how you get back in if you lose your password or change your device.
New device code: the first time you log in from a phone or computer you have not used before, the game mails a code to your e-mail address and asks for it once.
Every account that already existed is also asked once for this code at its next login, even on a device it used before. After that, only new devices are asked.
After that the device is remembered and you are not asked again on it.
The code stays valid for 15 minutes. If you mistype it, log in again and type the same code.
If somebody keeps guessing the code of your account, new devices are locked for 30 minutes, while your own devices keep working.
If your account has no working e-mail address, the game asks you to add one and confirm it with a code.
Changing your password in the game always asks for a code that is mailed to you first.
Never share your password or a mailed code with anybody, staff included.
You can create two accounts per computer and three accounts per e-mail address.
For Gmail addresses, dots and anything after a plus sign count as the same address.
Shift+P switches to another account.
On Android, iPhone and iPad, choose "Switch account" in the action menu (2 finger swipe down) instead of Shift+P.
Game menu, "Account settings": change your password or e-mail address, rename your character, set a status message and see the devices that logged in to your account.
Names may use any alphabet, 3 to 20 characters, without spaces, without the characters / \ : . and without invisible characters. When a name is refused, you are told why.
You can rename your character once every 14 days. It costs 150 zero tokens and is free with a paid account. You cannot rename or delete your account while you are knocked down or in a match.
Your first minutes
At your very first login a short spoken welcome tells you where you are, which key opens the match menu and where to find First steps.
You start in the lobby, on the match menu carpet at 5 0 0.
Open the game menu with O (on Android, double tap the top center of the screen).
The first line of the game menu tells you what waits for you: your next first step, or "Rewards ready".
First steps
First steps is a short checklist for new players at the very top of the game menu.
- Open the game menu.
- Claim your daily login reward in Rewards.
- Join or create a match from the match menu in the lobby.
- Visit the freedom fight map, from the same match menu.
- Defeat an opponent.
- Buy something in the store.
- Finish a round at the shooting range in the lobby.
- Bonus: finish a match with at least one other player.
- Bonus: lift a knocked down teammate.
Every step pays zero tokens and XP.
The full list pays a bonus, an XP boost card and the title Ready for Duty.
The Lobby
The lobby is where you arrive after logging in and after every match.
Match menu: the carpet at 5 0 0. Press Shift+Enter there (on Android, triple tap the middle of the screen).
The match menu has: "create a match", "join or spectate a match", "go to freedom fight map", and "Watch your friends in freedom fight map".
Notice board: 8 steps north of the match menu. Press Shift+Enter on it to read it.
The notice board tells you who is online and where, the matches waiting for players, the season and its leaders, today's lobby challenge and the staff notice of the day.
Training dummy: east of the notice board. Pick a weapon class and hear what every weapon does to a fighter with your health.
The training dummy tells the damage per hit, the hits needed, the seconds of fire and the range of every weapon.
Shooting range: east of the training dummy. Press Shift+Enter there to start a round of 45 seconds.
At the shooting range a target beeps around you. Turn toward it and press Shift+Enter (on Android, triple tap the middle of the screen) to shoot.
A hit moves the target. In the second half of the round the targets move by themselves.
The range keeps your personal best and a top ten for all time and for the week.
Lobby challenge of the day: reach today's score at the shooting range for XP and a few zero tokens, once a day.
The zone tracker (Shift+M) lists the match menu, the notice board, the training dummy and the shooting range, so you can walk straight to them.
Players in the lobby hear when a public match waits for players and how many have joined.
Game menu line "Lobby": the notice board, the match menu from anywhere in the lobby, a range round where you stand, the range scores, the training dummy and where things are.
Items cannot be used in the lobby.
Match Modes
There are twenty-two match modes: nine new modes and thirteen classic modes.
Many modes can be played in teams or free for all. In team matches there are two teams, Red and Blue.
Game menu line "Match modes guide": the rules of every new mode, your current match, your wins per mode, and leaving a running match.
The nine new modes
In the new modes everyone gets the same fixed equipment, so skill decides.
They start with as few as two players, or one player per team.
Joining tells you the rules, and the match start tells you your team and goal.
You hear regular score and time updates. L tells you the score, the time left and your own kills and deaths.
In the modes with respawn you come back by yourself after a few seconds with the mode's equipment.
Every match starts with a spoken countdown, "three, two, one, Match start!", and ends with "Victory!" or "Defeat".
Battle royale, everyone for themselves
Everyone starts with only a pistol. Weapons, ammo and potions lie on the ground to loot. The last one standing wins.
The safe zone shrinks in six phases. The next zone's center and size are announced with a beacon sound.
The storm outside the safe zone hurts more every phase.
In the storm you hear a warning beep every second and are told how far and in which direction the safe zone is.
Eliminations are announced with the number of players left, and every eliminated player hears their final place.
Search and destroy, plant or defuse the spike
Rounds without respawn. Attackers plant the spike by standing 5 seconds on site A or site B.
Defenders defuse the spike by standing 7 seconds next to it.
The spike has a 40 second fuse and beeps faster as it runs down, with warnings at 20 and 10 seconds.
Wiping out the other team also wins the round.
Each round starts with a short frozen moment. Sides swap after round 3, and the first team to win 4 rounds wins the match.
Players who died come back for the next round. The sites and bases are listed in the zone tracker.
Team deathmatch, first team to 30 kills
You respawn a few seconds after every death.
The first team to 30 kills, or the best team after 10 minutes, wins.
Kill confirmed, collect the tags
Every death drops a beeping tag.
Your team scores only by picking up the tags of enemies it killed.
Picking up the tags of your own team denies the enemy their points.
Hardpoint, hold the moving hill
Hold the hill with your team to score a point every second. The first team to 100 points wins.
The hill sends out a sonar ping you can follow, and it moves every 60 seconds.
You hear when you step on or leave the hill, when it is contested and which team holds it.
The hills are listed in the zone tracker.
Gun game, a new weapon with every kill
Every kill instantly gives you the next of 10 weapons.
The last weapon is the knife, and the first knife kill wins.
A fall or a self kill costs you a level.
Infected, survive the infection
After 10 seconds one player becomes infected and fights with a sword.
Every survivor the infected kill joins the infected.
The survivors win if one of them lasts 4 minutes.
The last survivor is announced to everyone and gets a vitality potion.
Blackout, fight in the dark
Everyone for themselves, 2 to 8 players, in a dark arena. When you create it you choose 1 to 15 rounds, 3 by default.
In the dark you hear nobody's footsteps, and the nearby players lists, scopes, binoculars and the radar do not work. Gunshots and decoys are heard as always.
The floor is in strips from west to east: carpet, gravel, metal, glass and water. Your own steps tell you where you are, and L names your strip.
A light switch beeps somewhere in the arena. Step on it for 25 seconds of light: then you hear everybody again. After that the lights go out and a new switch beeps.
Every round you get a knife, a pistol with 3 magazines, 2 decoys and 2 small potions.
The last one standing wins the round. After 3 minutes the round is a draw. Most rounds won wins the match, and a tie plays extra rounds.
Kill messages in Blackout do not say where somebody fell.
Blackout has no bots.
Squad rounds, one weapon for everyone each round
Two teams, rounds without respawn. Every round everyone gets the same weapon: knives, pistols, shotguns, M4 rifles, sniper rifles, AK-47s, and then fists.
Wipe out the other team to win the round. After 2 minutes 30 seconds the team with more players standing wins it.
The first team to win 4 rounds wins the match. Bots can fill the teams.
The thirteen classic modes
Team dead match
Team dead match has no respawn. To win, one team must kill all opponents.
The play area shrinks as the match goes on.
Last man standing
Everyone fights alone, with no teams. The last player standing wins.
The play area shrinks as the match goes on.
Hand to hand combat
Teamed or not teamed. Players can only use punches and kicks.
Knife fight match
Teamed or not teamed. You can only use a knife, the map is smaller and grenades are not allowed.
You can collect up to 5 snowflake shards with Shift+Enter (on Android, triple tap the middle of the screen).
A thrown snowflake shard stuns the enemy for 3 seconds.
Snowflake survival
Teamed or not teamed. As in Knife fight match you collect snowflake shards, but freezing an enemy even once kills them.
Sniper duel
Teamed or not teamed. Players can only use sniper rifles, and grenades are not allowed.
The last team or player standing wins.
Sword duel
Teamed or not teamed. Players can only use swords, and grenades are not allowed.
You start with a wooden sword. The stone sword and the diamond sword can be found among the items on the map.
Explosive battle
Teamed or not teamed. Players can only use grenades and molotovs, no other weapons, not even knives.
A grenade is not thrown at once. When you use it you hear a sound; after it, press Enter again to throw (on Android, double tap the middle of the screen).
If you wait too long, the grenade explodes in your hand.
You start with 2 metal shields.
Abyss clash
Teamed or not teamed. Like Explosive battle, but the map has pits you can fall into.
There are metal cases you can climb, and grenades can destroy them. You start with 2 metal shields.
Zombie survival
The teams cannot hit each other. Both teams must kill the zombies on the map, and the last team standing wins.
Houses can be used for hiding. Press Shift+Enter (on Android, triple tap the middle of the screen) to enter a house.
Zombies that break down a door can enter the house and kill the players inside.
Players inside a house and players outside cannot see or hear each other.
Zombie vs player
One team is human and the other team is made of zombies. The last team standing wins.
Zombies have a lower-pitched walking sound and make zombie sounds now and then.
Zombies can only use their claws, cannot jump and cannot use items.
When a zombie hits a player, it gains health equal to the damage it does.
The play area shrinks as the match goes on.
Fainting: in this mode a death has a 50 percent chance to make you faint instead. You wake up after 1 minute with 20 health.
A team mate within 3 steps of a fainted player can wake them up earlier with the T key.
Capture the flag
Each team steals the flags of the other team and takes them to its own base. The first team to bring home 10 flags wins.
Take a flag with Shift+Enter (on Android, triple tap the middle of the screen).
Red flags go to the coordinates 100 100 0, blue flags to 0 0 0. Press Shift+Enter there to place the flag.
After every placed flag you hear how many more flags that team needs.
If a player holding flags dies or leaves the game, the flags drop at their last position and keep their colour.
Collector's arena
Teamed or not teamed. You cannot fight in this mode. Collect the gold items scattered on the ground for 10 minutes.
The team or player who collected the most items wins, and every winner receives 10 zero tokens, when the other side had a real player from another device and another connection.
Updates during classic matches
Every minute you hear how many players or team members are still alive, and how big the play area is while it shrinks.
Bots
When you create a match, the game asks whether to add bots. Bots fill the empty seats, so a match can start even when you are alone.
Bots can be added to every mode except Capture the flag, in public and private matches.
In the new modes the empty seats are filled at the start: every team up to the size you chose, solo modes up to the number of members you chose.
Bots sound like players: footsteps, drawing a weapon, shots, reloading, pain and death. They use doors and never walk through walls.
Bots pick up items, carry an inventory and use the weapons they find.
Bots play the mode: they loot and reach the safe zone, plant and defuse the spike, collect tags, hold the hill, climb the gun game ladder, hunt or flee in Infected, and fight with the round's weapon in Squad rounds. Blackout has no bots.
In Team deathmatch, first team to 30 kills, a bot of your team comes to lift you when you are knocked down.
When a player leaves a running match with bots, a bot takes the seat.
A battle royale with bots ends when the last real player is out, and you hear your place.
Killing a bot counts as a bot kill and for your kill streak, but gives no zero tokens, no score points and no XP.
Match rewards, statistics, missions and match records need at least two different real players.
Bot commands in team matches
Type these in the team chat (J key):
- come followed by a bot's name: that bot comes to you and follows you.
- go followed by a bot's name: that bot goes back to its normal behavior.
- come all: every bot of your team follows you.
- go all: every bot of your team goes back to its normal behavior.
Creating and Joining a Match
- Go to the match menu carpet at 5 0 0 in the lobby, or use the game menu line "Lobby".
- Press Shift+Enter (on Android, triple tap the middle of the screen) and choose "create a match".
- Choose Public match or Private match. A private match needs a password, or an invitation from its creator.
- Choose the mode, the size, and whether to add bots.
- Wait for other players to join.
- Press Shift+Enter again to start the match. Everyone is told that a match has started.
To join a match, choose "join or spectate a match" in the match menu.
Players in the lobby are told when a match is created, and whether it is public or private.
The match creator can kick a player from the match lobby, or ban a player from all of their future matches.
New team matches without bots even out the teams at the start: the players who joined last change sides and are told.
Before a match starts you can leave it with Shift+Enter in the match lobby. Once it has started, it can no longer be cancelled from the match lobby menu.
A running new-mode match can be left from the Match modes guide in the game menu. A classic match cannot be left once it has started.
A waiting new-mode match closes when its creator leaves, and the other players go back to the lobby.
If you lose your connection during a match, you keep your place for 2 minutes and still count for your team. The match hears that you lost the connection and that you are back. In Search and destroy, Blackout and Squad rounds you join again at the next round.
Matches survive a server restart. The time the server was down does not count, and for 5 minutes after the restart nobody loses a place. Log in within those 5 minutes and you are back in your match.
Match Rewards
In matches, every enemy player you kill gives you 3 to 5 zero tokens, and your team mates on the map get 3 to 5 tokens too.
Killing the same player again within 5 minutes gives no tokens.
You also earn score points for player kills. They decide your rank in "View ranking list" of the main menu.
Score ranks go from Bronze to Ace and then Conqueror, Warlord, Overlord, Immortal, Legend and Eternal, five steps each, up to Eternal I at 150,000 score points. A rank up tells you the next rank and the points it needs; Character Stats show them too.
Finishing a new-mode match gives zero tokens and XP, more for the winners, with a daily limit.
Very short matches and matches without a second real player pay nothing, and you are told why.
Two accounts on the same device or the same internet connection count as one player for match rewards, match achievements and first steps.
Killing another account on the same device gives no zero tokens, no score points and no XP, and counts for no missions.
Match XP: 40 XP for a win, 12 for playing, 20 for the match MVP, and a first win of the day bonus of 50 XP plus a few zero tokens.
After every match you hear how much XP is left to your next season tier and your next level.
The player with the most kills in a match is announced as the match MVP. A tie gives no MVP.
Wins in a row are announced at 3, 5, 10 and more, and your best win streak is kept as a record.
Knocked Down and Lifting
A lethal hit from another fighter knocks you down half of the time instead of killing you.
This happens in freedom fight, in Team dead match, in Team deathmatch and in Last man standing.
While knocked down you lie where you fell with 1 health. You cannot move, shoot or use items, but you can still talk.
You hear how many seconds you have left. Your character groans every few seconds, so helpers and enemies can find you.
Friends, group mates and team mates are told when you go down, in which direction and how far, and hear a locator sound at your place.
Knocked down fighters are marked "downed" in the nearby players list (E).
To lift someone, stand next to them, press T and stay close for 4 seconds without being hit.
Shift+Enter (on Android, triple tap the middle of the screen) also lifts friends, group mates and team mates.
The lifted fighter stands up with 30 percent health and 3 seconds of protection. A med kit makes lifting faster.
In team matches only team mates can lift you. In freedom fight and Last man standing anybody can: friends and group mates with T or Shift+Enter, strangers with T.
If nobody comes, a knocked down fighter dies after 2 minutes, or after 45 seconds in Team deathmatch, first team to 30 kills.
Any further damage finishes a knocked down fighter at once. The kill always goes to the fighter who knocked them down.
To give up, press T twice (or Shift+Enter twice) while knocked down.
Leaving the game or the freedom fight map while knocked down counts as a death for the fighter who knocked you down. You cannot switch accounts while knocked down.
If the server restarts while you are knocked down, you do not make it: the kill goes to the fighter who knocked you down.
After a lift your weapons work as before, automatic fire included.
A fighter who was just lifted and is "killed" again within 30 seconds simply dies.
Lifting someone gives 25 XP, up to 10 rewarded lifts a day, never for someone you knocked down yourself.
Game menu line "Knocked down and lifting": a short guide and your own numbers, such as lifts, times knocked down and times lifted.
Watching Matches
When you die in a match you can choose to keep watching it.
To watch a running match from the lobby, choose it in "join or spectate a match" in the match menu.
Watching starts on a real player who is alive.
You can watch the players of public matches and of the match you are watching or playing. In freedom fight you can watch only your friends, and never inside a group base.
The left and right arrows (on Android, swipe left or right) move between the players and bots of the match.
Escape (on Android, the back button) stops watching. You then no longer hear the deaths of that match and are not sent back to the lobby when it ends.
While watching, the information keys describe the player you watch:
- H tells their health, whether they are dead, and the health of their motor.
- Shift+F tells their aim.
- You hear the beacons of other players, the deaths in the match, the kill messages of their map and their parachute.
- You can still send group messages and map messages; the receivers see that you are watching.
The Helicopter
Some matches and the freedom fight map start in a helicopter that flies you over the map.
You cannot walk or jump inside the helicopter. If you do not jump in time, it drops you by itself.
Press Shift+Enter (on Android, triple tap the middle of the screen) to jump.
You can jump 10 seconds after you get in; earlier, you hear how long to wait.
After the jump you fall. Open your parachute to slow down, and close it when you have landed.
Players nearby hear your parachute open and close. If you die with the parachute open, it closes.
In freedom fight you can choose your drop zone from the helicopter, and passengers hear the airdrop, red zone and extraction news.
The freedom fight helicopter can fly over the whole city. You hear its engine everywhere until you jump.
Freedom Fight: the City of Brackenford
Freedom fight needs no match. Choose "go to freedom fight map" in the match menu of the lobby.
A helicopter flies you over the city, you jump and parachute down, and you can fight anybody you meet. There are no teams.
You can leave with the game menu line "Leave from freedom fight map".
Game menu line "Freedom fight": airdrops, red zones, control points, extraction, the compass, your record and the map events.
The city
Brackenford is 600 by 600 steps.
In the center is Meridian Plaza with a fountain, and north of it the three-storey Halcyon Arcade.
The Thornwood forest lies in the west. The Silverrun Canal crosses the city, with five bridges.
In the south are the Ironmill Works with a rail yard, a foundry and warehouses.
There are also a hospital, a school, a chapel, a hotel tower, a town hall, a guard post, a library, a farm and a wide meadow in the north.
About 60 buildings can be entered, 30 of them family houses with a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
Furniture gives cover, and you can jump onto it. Some houses have an upper floor or a cellar.
Real stairs lead between floors, up to the roofs of the big buildings and down underground.
Ladders lead to the water tower, the radio mast, the bell tower and several roofs.
The Underline is an underground railway tunnel under Lantern Avenue with three stations: Westgate, Plaza and Eastmarket.
There are also a forest bunker, cellars and a hospital basement.
Every street, square, building and room has its own name, and every room sounds like its size.
About 100 landmarks can be tracked: building entrances, bridges, street junctions, shops, metro entrances and supply stations.
Players inside a building and players outside do not hear each other through the walls.
Windows
Houses, shops and offices have 735 glass windows.
Shoot a window, or hit it with a knife, a sword or a thrown weapon, and the glass shatters. Everyone nearby hears it.
A thrown grenade breaks the glass it hits and flies on into the room. An explosion breaks every window within 8 squares.
A broken window is a real opening: you can shoot, look, walk and throw grenades through it.
Broken glass stays on the floor, so you hear the crunch when anybody steps through.
Windows repair themselves after 5 minutes with a soft glass sound, but never while somebody stands in the opening.
Walls and whole windows stop every bullet, knife and grenade.
Shops and chests
The store of the game menu is not available in freedom fight. The shops are in Tanner's Market, south east of Meridian Plaza.
Tanner's Market holds seven shops in market booths: the general store, equipment, weapons, explosives, potions, ammunition and vehicles.
The general store, with every category, is at 350 278 0.
Stand on a booth and press Shift+Enter (on Android, triple tap the middle of the screen) to open it. The zone tracker leads you to every shop.
About 220 chests are spread over the city: in houses, offices, wards, cellars, warehouses, the metro, the forest and the streets.
Press Shift+Enter near a chest to see the items inside and take them.
Emptied chests refill after a while with new random items.
Chests can be destroyed. Their items are lost, and the chest comes back later with new items.
Tanner's Market is a safe area. Nobody inside can be hurt, weapons and explosives do nothing there, the city's other fighters leave you alone and motors do not run you over. Protection ends for 30 seconds after you deal or take damage, and after 10 minutes in the market; you are told a minute before.
Airdrops, red zones, control points and extraction
Every freedom fight announcement tells you where it is: steps, compass direction and clock position from the way you face.
Airdrops fall every 6 to 9 minutes while people play there, in three tiers: common, rare and epic.
A supply helicopter brings the crate. You hear it over the drop point, a call 10 seconds before the landing with the direction, and the crate hitting the ground.
The first player at the crate takes it with Shift+Enter. On phones it is picked up by itself.
Airdrop loot is fair: ammo, potions, grenades, armour and the weapons of the map chests, never items that are bought with money.
The whole map hears who looted an airdrop. A crate nobody claims disappears after 6 minutes.
Red zone: every 10 to 15 minutes a part of the city is announced and bombarded 20 seconds later.
You hear whether you are inside the red zone, which way to run and how many steps to the edge.
The underground is a safe shelter from the red zone, and players who just landed are spared.
Control points: Meridian Plaza, Halcyon Arcade, Saint Verena Hospital, Brassworks Foundry, Cinder Rail Yard, Larkfield school yard, Hotel Aurelia and Rookery Park.
Capture a control point by standing in it without enemies for 20 seconds, or 30 seconds if somebody else holds it.
The capture pauses while enemies share the point. Group mates count as allies.
A held control point pays its holder 1 zero token and XP every 2 minutes, up to a daily limit.
A control point turns neutral when its holder's side has been away from the map for 5 minutes.
Extraction: every 15 to 20 minutes a helicopter comes to an extraction zone.
Reach the zone within 2 minutes and stay 5 seconds to bank the kills of your life for zero tokens and XP.
Supply stations: five stations along the streets. A beep marks each station.
Stand on a supply station for 3 seconds to refill the ammo of the weapon in your hand and get a small potion, once every 5 minutes.
Finding your way
The freedom fight compass gives the direction and distance to the airdrop, the extraction, the red zone, any control point and the nearest supply station.
After a compass choice, a guide beacon pings from the target every 2 seconds until you reach it.
Where am I tells the name of your place, the nearest landmark and your coordinates, and whether you are on a bridge or in the water.
Area report tells how many players are in each part of the city, without names.
The event status tells how long until the next airdrop, red zone and extraction.
A status report every 4 minutes tells how many players are alive, the busiest area and how many control points are held.
Choose your drop zone in the helicopter: every control point, every district, the four landing grounds at the edge of the city, a random spot and the active airdrop or extraction zone.
When you land you hear the events that are running. Rain, storms, dawn, dusk and night are announced.
One rain in three is a storm: thunder rolls every 20 to 30 seconds on the outdoor maps, quieter under a roof.
If you ever fall out of the map, you are put back where you last stood on solid ground.
In the freedom fight settings you can switch status reports, weather messages and other players' capture callouts on or off.
Other fighters in the city
The city is never empty: extra fighters can arrive by helicopter and parachute onto the streets like everyone else.
They loot chests, ground items, corpses and airdrops, so a chest you hear may already be empty.
They hear footsteps and gunshots, take cover, reload out of sight, throw grenades, shoot out windows and hold control points.
Walls muffle your footsteps for them: if you stand still and stay quiet, they may walk past.
When they fall they drop a corpse with everything they carried, and they come back later by helicopter.
Taking one down counts for your kill streak, gives a score point at most every 5 minutes and sometimes a zero token, with a small daily limit.
Freedom fight rewards and records
Killing another player gives 1 score point and a 50 percent chance of 1 zero token.
Repeated kills of the same player do not count for the freedom fight rewards, and recaptures of the same control point pay nothing for 15 minutes.
The daily freedom fight leaderboard counts kills, captures, airdrops, extractions and a combined score.
The kill leader of the day is announced, and yesterday's number one earns the Freedom Champion title.
Your freedom fight record keeps today and all time, your best life, red zone deaths and your longest survival.
Staying alive and active for 5, 10 and 20 minutes gives XP.
Badges: Airdrop Hunter, Point Taker and Extraction Pro.
Every 30 minutes the player with the highest kill streak on the map is announced as most wanted. Killing them gives 40 XP.
Groups in freedom fight
A group member's position beacon sounds different from other beacons.
If you hit a member of your own group, a distinct beep plays.
Motors bought on the freedom fight map stay on that map.
Watching in freedom fight
Choose "Watch your friends in freedom fight map" in the match menu to watch there.
The C and Z keys do not work while watching in freedom fight.
The left and right arrows move between players, L lists the players on the map, and Escape takes you back to the lobby.
If the player you watch enters a group base or goes back to the lobby, you switch to the next player.
Weapons
Assault rifles and carbines: M4, AK-47 and MKEK MPT-76K.
Battle rifles: MKEK MPT-76 and M1 Garand.
Rifle: GSG-5. Light machine gun: Tayfun.
Shotguns: Ithaca M37, KS-123 and Maverick 88.
Pistols: Colt 1911, FNH FNP-40, FNH FNP-45, MKEK Yavuz 16, Beretta M9 and Kel-Tec P3-18.
Revolver: Smith and Wesson Model 66.
Sniper rifles: Dragunov PSL, MKEK JNG-90 and Mosin Nagant.
The Mosin Nagant and the Maverick 88 are timed weapons: one week for each copy, counted from the first time you draw one in either hand. Buying or being given another copy while it runs adds a week and tells you the new end date. When the time is up every copy goes and the weapon leaves your hands.
The Kel-Tec P3-18 is no longer sold. If you have one, you keep it until its time runs out.
The Kel-Tec P3-18 hits like the other pistols: 20 to 30 damage, with the range and fire rate of the Beretta M9.
Melee: punch and kick, knife, and the wooden, stone and diamond swords.
Explosives: hand grenade, smoke grenade, molotov cocktail, TM62 mine and time bomb.
The newest weapons
AK-47: a hard-hitting assault rifle with automatic fire at medium range, 30 rounds of 7.62x39mm.
MKEK MPT-76: a battle rifle with longer reach and heavier bullets, slower automatic fire, 20 rounds of 7.62x39mm.
Tayfun: a light machine gun with very fast fire, a 60 round belt and a long reload. It uses the same 5.56x45mm ammo as the M4.
M1 Garand: a semi automatic rifle with long range, heavy single shots and an 8 round clip of .30-06 Springfield.
KS-123: a combat shotgun with huge damage up close and 5 shells of 12 gauge, a little faster than the Ithaca.
They are in the store, in chests and in match loot drops.
Ammo cartridges for the AK-47, MPT-76, M1 Garand and KS-123 are in the store. Use one from your bag for a full magazine.
Weapon guide and inspect
Game menu line "Weapon guide and inspect" has:
- Inspect my weapons: both hands with fire mode, fire rate, loaded and spare ammo, damage, range, silencer and reload time.
- Weapon guide: every weapon by class with its real damage, range, fire mode, damage per second, magazine, reload time and where to get it.
- Compare two weapons side by side, with the better one named.
- Weapon mastery: bronze at 25 kills, silver at 100, gold at 500 with a weapon master title.
- My weapon stats: shots, hits, accuracy, headshots, damage and kills for every weapon.
- Weapon leaderboards: the top 10 players of every weapon.
- Ammo check: every ammo type you carry and which of your weapons use it.
- Weapon of the day: kills with it give bonus XP, up to 20 kills a day. It changes every day.
- Settings for the weapon callouts: low ammo, empty magazine, last magazine, draw callout and life summary.
Two weapons at once
You can hold a weapon in each hand.
In the inventory menu (I), the left and right arrows draw the selected weapon into that hand.
A number key draws its weapon in your left hand. Alt+Shift with the number key draws it in your right hand.
Left Control fires the left-hand weapon (on Android, tap or hold the bottom left).
Right Control fires the right-hand weapon (on Android, tap or hold the bottom right). You cannot fire the right-hand weapon while sitting.
X and Shift+X tell the ammo of the left and right hand. Grave accent and Shift+grave accent tell the damage and silencer of each hand.
Shift+1 puts away the left-hand weapon, and Alt+Shift+1 the right-hand weapon.
The scope beep sounds different when the right-hand weapon is on target.
Number keys for weapons
Hold a weapon and press Shift with a number key, for example Shift+2, to put it on that number. 1 is always punch and kick.
Then that number key draws the weapon whenever you carry it.
On Android, swipe left or right in the top part of the screen to switch weapons.
The weapon in your hand when you leave the game is drawn again at your next login.
After drawing a weapon you cannot fire it or draw another one until its draw sound has finished.
Aiming up and down
You can aim at targets above and below you.
With the classic walking style, the default, you aim with W and S. Without it, you aim with the up and down arrows.
Each press moves your aim 1 step. With Shift it moves 2 steps.
On Android, swipe up or down with 2 fingers in the bottom center of the screen to aim.
Alt+F switches between the two aiming modes (on Android, swipe left or right with 2 fingers in the bottom part of the screen).
Angle-based aiming gives half up, straight up, half down and straight down. Straight up or down sends the bullet only up or down.
Step-based aiming lets you aim from 1 step up to your weapon's spread, up or down. The bullet starts at that height and flies straight ahead.
Headshots and leg shots
A headshot does double damage: shoot someone two steps below you, or aim up as far as your weapon's spread.
A headshot sometimes makes the victim fall down.
A steel helmet protects from headshots. An active metal shield stops the fall from a headshot, but not the extra damage.
Aiming down as far as your weapon's spread can hit the legs. Only such a shot can knock a player down by the legs; a level shot never does.
A player hit in the legs falls down and must stand up again before drawing or using a weapon.
Weapon melee attack
Shift with Left or Right Control hits a player near you with the weapon in that hand (on Android, swipe right in the bottom left or bottom right).
It works only with weapons that use ammunition, uses no ammo, and cannot hit through walls.
The victim falls down and drops the weapon in their hand.
Throwing knives and swords
Shift+Space throws the knife or sword in your left hand, Alt+Space the one in your right hand.
On Android, swipe down with 1 finger in the bottom left or bottom right to throw.
Thrown knives reach 20 tiles and thrown swords 15 tiles, and they do more damage than a normal hit.
A weapon that hits is used up. A weapon that misses falls to the ground and can be picked up.
Reloading
R reloads and Shift+R unloads your weapon. You move slower while reloading.
On Android, swipe up in the bottom left or bottom right to reload that hand, and swipe down there with 2 fingers to unload.
With a weapon in each hand, the R and Shift+R keys do not work.
Unloading puts the rounds in your bag only as far as your carrying limit allows; the rest stays in the gun and you are told.
Scope beep
With scope enabled in the settings, a beep plays while your weapon is aimed at something it can hit, in range and in sight.
The scope does not beep while you are fainted, near an active jammer, or for a target behind a wall or inside smoke.
Silencer
A silencer can be put on every weapon that uses ammunition, shotguns included. It halves the range, and only players within 30 tiles hear a distant sound. Aiming up or down with a silencer also halves the range, not twice.
The weapon information key (grave accent), the scope beep and Inspect use the range your shot really has: with a silencer, a tactical silencer or while you aim up or down.
Fitting or removing a silencer takes a moment and you cannot move meanwhile.
The tactical silencer of the event store keeps three quarters of the range. It fits one gun at a time and takes 6 seconds to fit or remove. Its 7-day licence starts the first time you fit it, and it cannot be dropped.
You can carry up to 4 silencers.
You can fit as many silencers as you carry. A silencer comes off when you drop the weapon or when you die.
Items
Game menu line "New items: what they do and what you carry": every new item explained, your placed devices and how long they last.
The new items are sold in the store for zero tokens, and the everyday ones are also found in chests and airdrops.
A paid account changes nothing about items.
The newest items
- Bandage: heals 45 health slowly over 9 seconds. Taking damage tears it off.
- Med kit: hold still for 3 seconds and you are at full health. Taking damage interrupts it and you keep the kit.
- Energy drink: you walk and run 20 percent faster for 12 seconds.
- Ammo box: two full magazines for each weapon in your hands.
- Decoy: put it down and walk away; it fires fake gunshots from that spot for 20 seconds.
- Footstep lure: fake footsteps walk away from you in the direction you face.
- Motion sensor: for 4 minutes it tells you, with the direction, when an enemy comes within 12 steps of it.
- Trip wire: the first enemy who walks into it is stopped for 2 seconds and you are told where. It does no damage.
- Smoke grenade: for 24 seconds nobody inside the smoke shows up on player lists, binoculars, scopes or beacons. Steps and shots are still heard.
- Supply flare: in freedom fight it calls a supply helicopter to where you stand. Everybody hears it. Once every 20 minutes.
- Repair kit: repairs 250 health of the motor next to you at once. It is sold next to the motor in the vehicles category.
- Loot locator: tells the direction and distance of the three nearest items on the ground and of the nearest chest.
- Fire suppressant: use it while you stand in a molotov fire to put the fire out.
- Flashbang: thrown 8 steps ahead, it goes off 2 seconds later. Everybody near it who can see it is deaf and blind for 2 to 6 seconds and stunned for 2 seconds. A wall gives full cover, and it never hits you.
- Frag grenade: a bigger, louder hand grenade, 60 to 140 damage within 14 steps.
- Poison vial: use it with a knife or a sword in your hand; your next 3 hits with that blade poison the target, 2 health a second until an antidote, death or a match. A metal shield blocks it.
- Antidote: cures poison at once. It is kept when you are not poisoned.
- Silent boots: for 5 minutes only players within 8 steps hear your footsteps.
- Thermal scanner: tells the direction and distance of up to 8 fighters within 40 steps, also those in smoke or invisible. It works under a jammer.
- Field magazine (event store): 25 percent bigger magazines for 5 minutes of play.
- Combat stimulant (event store): the adrenaline fire rate for 1 real hour.
- Corpse bomb defuser (event store): disarms the bomb on your own corpse in 5 seconds. It stays in your bag when you die.
- Tactical silencer (event store): see Silencer.
- Secret safe, base alarm and base charger: for group bases, see Groups and bases.
Potions
Small potion, vitality potion and revival nectar restore a small, a moderate and a large amount of health.
You cannot heal while fainted or sitting.
Protection
Metal shield: protects you from hits until it breaks. You cannot move until its deploy sound has finished.
Steel helmet: protects you from headshots until it breaks. Its damage is kept when you take it off or log out.
Invisibility shield: for 15 seconds you do not show up on player lists, binoculars, scopes or beacons.
While invisible, only your footsteps can be heard, and you can still be hit.
Explosives and traps
TM62 mine: explodes when someone steps on it and damages everything within 15 steps. A few hits with a weapon also set it off.
A mine makes no warning sound.
Time bomb: once armed it explodes within 20 seconds and damages everything within 50 feet. M shows the seconds left.
Corpse bomb: switch it on or off. If it is on when you die, it explodes when somebody opens your corpse, and you receive 1 zero token.
Boom box: places a fake item on the ground. It explodes when somebody tries to pick it up, and you receive 1 zero token.
A molotov fire is the kill of the player who threw it.
Building
Barricade: a wall 10 tiles high with a platform on top that you can stand on. Gunfire destroys it.
Ladder: a ladder 20 tiles up. Gunfire destroys it. The player who placed it can take it back with Shift+Enter at its foot.
Base life amplifier: found in freedom fight chests, it adds health to a group base.
Information and tricks
Binoculars: show the players within 120 steps of you, and whether they are fainted.
Corpse scanner: lists every corpse on your map with its coordinates, its owner and how long it remains.
Jammer: for 2 minutes, players near it cannot use binoculars, the nearby players list or their scopes.
Spatial amplifier: place it on a player within 5 tiles. For 10 minutes the spatial amplifier controller tells that player's coordinates.
A destroyed spatial amplifier explodes and hurts everybody within 20 tiles.
Adrenaline shot: your weapon fires faster for 2 minutes.
The corpse bomb, boom box, corpse scanner, jammer, spatial amplifier, adrenaline shot, field magazine, combat stimulant, corpse bomb defuser and tactical silencer are sold in the event store.
In the lobby the event store also has "Sell items back": the event store items you carry are bought back for half of today's price, up to 500 event points a day (100 on the phone server). Timed items, permanent items and the bike are not bought back.
Backpacks
Backpacks do nothing: carrying limits are the same for every player, and neither the store nor the in-app purchases sell them any more.
Electric poles
Some maps have electric poles. They have 150 health, and gunfire or explosions destroy them.
A destroyed pole hurts everybody within 40 steps, the shooter included, and knocks them down. The player who destroyed it gets the kills, but not for shocking himself.
Jumping onto the platform of an electric pole kills you at once.
Death and your items
When you die, the weapon in your hand drops to the ground, and the items you found in that match stay in your corpse.
Some store items are permanent and are never lost.
Corpses make a bleeding sound and disappear after 10 minutes. If several corpses lie on one spot, Shift+Enter lets you choose one.
If your own corpse carries your corpse bomb, open it or use a corpse bomb defuser while you stand on it: the bomb is switched off in 5 seconds and the corpse opens.
Every match gives you a set of starting items, depending on the mode.
Favorite items
Select an item in your inventory and press Shift+U to make it your first favorite. U then uses it at any time.
Shift+Y and Y do the same for a second favorite item.
On Android, set up to three favorites in the action menu, and use them with a 2 finger tap, double tap or triple tap on the right side of the screen.
Carrying Limits
Some items have a carrying limit. It is the same for every player, free or paid. Items that are not listed have no limit.

Motors and Bikes
Motors
Buy a motor in the vehicles category of the store during a match, or at the vehicles booth of Tanner's Market in freedom fight.
Motors cannot be bought in the lobby or in a match waiting room. You can own 2 motors at a time.
A new motor appears 1 step ahead of you. Jump onto it, then press Shift+Enter to sit on it (on Android, triple tap the middle of the screen).
Shift+Enter starts and stops the engine.
Hold the up arrow to drive. The down arrow brakes and stops you at once. On Android, swipe up or down and hold.
The left and right arrows turn 45 degrees; with Shift, 1 degree (on Android, swipe left or right with 2 fingers).
Space plays the horn (on Android, tap the bottom center). You can choose one of four horn sounds.
Nitro: Shift+Enter while moving gives 5 seconds of extra speed, then 20 seconds to cool down.
Every 250 tiles you drive fill one nitro charge, up to 3. Nitro cannot be bought.
H while driving gives the dashboard: health, speed, gear, heading, driver, passengers, free seats, nitro and odometer, plus your own health.
Escape gets you off. If the motor is moving, you fall off instead.
Other players can ride with you as passengers. The first person on the motor drives it.
Locks: open to everyone, to your team and group only, or only to you.
A motor left unlocked and alone can be stolen, and you are told when it happens.
A warning beep plays when you come close to a wall. A crash throws you off and damages the motor, more at higher speed.
Health warnings sound at 50, 25 and 10 percent. Below 10 percent the motor may not start until it is repaired.
A parked motor sounds an alarm when somebody damages it, and you are told where it is.
Repair: stand next to your motor with the engine off and pay a few zero tokens, use a repair kit, or park it in a group base, where it repairs slowly for free.
Motor insurance: once a day you can restore a motor destroyed in the last 24 hours.
When a match ends, your motor goes back to the dealer and you get up to half its price back. You can also scrap a motor for up to half its price.
A player hit by a motor counts as hit by the driver.
You can give your motor or bike a name. Vehicles near you lists every motor and bike within 100 tiles with its direction, health and riders.
Motor locator: the direction and distance of your motors, with a sound beacon on the nearest one.
Game menu line "See your motors": dashboard, locator, locks, repair, nitro, trials, insurance and statistics.
Bikes
Buy a bike in the event store with event points. You can have up to 3 bikes.
Press Shift+Enter to get on, and hold the up arrow to ride (on Android, swipe up and hold).
Bikes have three gears: slow always brakes before walls and water, normal, and fast, which covers more ground but crashes harder.
Bikes have health. A crash damages the bike and throws you off.
Other players can sit on your bike, but only the first person on it rides. A bike left alone can be stolen.
Game menu line "See your bikes": dashboard, locator, locks, gears, trials and statistics. H gives the dashboard while riding.
Sprint trials and statistics
Sprint trials for motors (150, 300 and 600 tiles) and bikes (200 and 500 tiles) work on any map, with personal bests and top 10 leaderboards.
Your first finish of each trial every day pays a few zero tokens.
Vehicle statistics keep your distance, top speed, rides, crashes, rams, kills, repairs and best trial times.
Characters and Voices
Your character is your voice in the fight: pain, a death cry and lines for your kills.
Every account has Tristan. Other characters, such as Aria, Kade, Razeon, Shadow, Hex, Supreme and Lord, can be added, and they stay on your account.
A character is a voice and an identity. Every character has the same health, speed, jump and damage.
Shadow, Hex, Supreme and Lord cost the same, and there is a bundle with all four. If you already own one of them, you get zero tokens instead.
Game menu line "Change character": switch between your characters, in the lobby or while waiting for a match.
Renaming your character costs zero tokens. Your support tickets are updated, and a note about the change is added to them.
An arena announcer calls out your big moments: first blood, multi kills, streaks, shutdowns, revenge, long shots, victory and defeat.
You can turn the announcer voice off for yourself in Combat feedback, Announcement settings; you then hear the classic sounds.
Rewards and Progression
Game menu line "Rewards": first steps, the daily reward, play time, the season, XP boost, the season leaderboard and missions.
Daily reward and streak
Claim your daily login reward once a day in Rewards. The 7 day calendar gives more zero tokens and XP every day of the week.
Your streak counts on after the first week, with a little more XP every week.
At 14 days you get an XP boost card. At 30 days you get zero tokens, a cosmetic crate and a title.
Your best streak is remembered.
Streak savers: you can hold up to 3. A missed day uses one, after the free weekly saver, so a short break does not reset your streak.
Play time and other rewards
Play time rewards: 15, 30, 60 and 120 minutes of active play a day pay zero tokens and XP.
Only real play in a match or in freedom fight counts, not the lobby, waiting rooms or standing still.
Comeback reward: after 3 or more days away you get zero tokens and an XP boost card, more after two weeks.
Play with a friend: finishing a match together with a friend gives bonus XP, up to 5 times a day.
XP boost card: plus 50 percent XP for one hour. Start it in Rewards, XP boost.
Token rewards above the daily token limit are saved and paid out to you later.
Levels and the season
Player levels go from 1 to 100. At level 100 you can prestige and start again for a prestige star, up to 20 stars.
Levels unlock titles and cosmetics, never combat power. Time away from the game builds rested XP.
Every month is a season with a Season Pass of 30 tiers and a free reward track of zero tokens, badges and titles.
The supporter row of the Season Pass holds titles, kill sounds, badges, XP boost cards, a streak saver and zero tokens.
The supporter row is open to paid accounts and to holders of the season supporter pass.
Season supporter pass: opens the supporter row for one season. It can be bought with zero tokens earned by playing.
A season supporter pass bought in the last 5 days of a season also counts for the next one.
Season rewards you reached but did not claim are added to your account at the end of the month.
Season leaderboard: the season XP of every player, with last season's winners.
The top ten of the season get a title, a badge and zero tokens, even when they are offline at the end of the month.
Game menu line "Progress, Season Pass and cosmetics": your level, the Season Pass, titles, cosmetics, profile card and prestige.
Missions and achievements
Three daily missions and three weekly missions, each with XP and zero tokens.
Finishing all three daily missions gives a clean sweep bonus, and days in a row build a mission streak.
You get one free daily mission reroll.
Freedom fight missions include looting airdrops, capturing control points and getting extracted.
The challenge of the week is a goal the whole server works on together.
More than 50 achievements in tiers unlock titles and achievement points.
Game menu line "Missions and achievements" lists them all with your progress.
Ranked play and bounties
Your skill rating rises when you defeat another player and falls when you are defeated.
There are eight divisions from Iron to Grandmaster, and every month is a new ranked season.
Your first 10 rated fights of a season are placement fights. After a promotion, a demotion shield protects you for 3 losses.
A match win adds a little rating and a loss takes a little, against real players only.
Repeated kills of the same player, team mates and bots never change your rating.
Bounty board: put 20 to 500 of your own zero tokens on a player who is in the freedom fight, for 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours or 6 hours. Whoever kills them in the freedom fight collects the bounty.
You cannot put a bounty on a player who uses your device or internet connection, and such a player cannot collect a bounty on you. A payer who shares the killer's connection gets his own part back.
Unclaimed bounties come back to you. After a bounty is collected or runs out, the same player is safe from new bounties for 10 minutes.
Bounty announcements can be switched off in Social, Social settings.
Game menu line "Ranked play, bounties and rivals": your rank card, leaderboards, the bounty board and your rivals.
Events
Every 3 hours a server event starts: Double XP hour, Bounty hour, Headhunter hour or Token rush.
You hear warnings 5 minutes and 1 minute before a server event. Game menu line "Events, guides and server info" lists the next events.
The same line has the most wanted player, your streak rewards, the guides, the tips of the day, frequently asked questions and the server information.
The daily events of the game menu line "events" earn event points, which you spend in the event store.
You can also buy event points: any amount from 10 to 20,000 in the web shop, or packs of 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1000 through "purchases" in the action menu on Android.
Combat feedback and statistics
Multi kills, kill streaks, shutdowns, first blood, revenge, comeback, long range and nemesis kills are called out.
When you die you hear who killed you, with which weapon, from how far and how much health they had left.
Game menu line "Combat feedback and combat log": switch each kind of announcement on or off, and choose full sentences, short callouts or sounds only.
Streak rewards in one life: a radar ping at 3 kills, an enemy count at 6 and a heartbeat sensor at 9.
Game menu line "Statistics and leaderboards": kills, deaths, kill to death ratio, play time, matches, records and head to head results.
Zero Tokens and the Store
Zero tokens are earned by playing: kills in matches, finished matches, missions, control points, extractions, the daily reward and level rewards.
Game menu line "Store": weapons, ammunition, equipment, potions, explosives, vehicles, characters and extras.
Store category "extras": XP boost card, streak saver, season supporter pass, kill sound packs Arcade and Steel, title pack Veteran, and the emote and horn pack.
The emote and horn pack gives all 10 sound emotes and the 3 extra horns for good, without a paid account.
Nothing in the extras changes a fight.
Game menu line "Economy": the daily calendar, cosmetic crates, extras, token reports, your token vault and savings goal, and the store catalogue.
The store catalogue lists every item of the store and the event store with its price, what you can afford and how many you carry.
Gifting zero tokens to a friend opens at level 8.
"Transfer zero token" in the player menu sends up to 200 zero tokens a day.
Zero tokens cannot be transferred or gifted to an account on the same device or the same internet connection.
The owner of a group cannot take out of the group bank what another of his accounts on the same device or connection donated.
An account cannot pick up, take from a chest or loot from a corpse what another account on the same device dropped, put in or carried.
If two players really share one device or one internet connection, for example brothers and sisters at home, write a ticket: the staff can allow it for their two accounts.
Typing zero, a negative number, a huge number or letters as an amount is refused with a clear message.
Money never buys combat power. Everything that matters in a fight can be earned by playing.
Auction House
Game menu line "Auction house": sell an item from your bag to other players for zero tokens. It opens in the lobby and in freedom fight.
Choose the item, the amount, a starting price and 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes. The item leaves your bag at once and the house keeps it safe.
One auction per player and 5 on the server at once. In freedom fight nobody may be within 30 steps of you and you must not have taken damage for a minute.
Timed items, items you never lose, characters, vehicles and extras cannot be sold.
A bid is at least the starting price, then 5 percent more than the highest bid. Your zero tokens are taken at once and come back at once when someone outbids you, or at your next login if you are offline.
You cannot bid on your own auction or on one from your own device or internet connection. A bid in the last minute adds a minute, at most 5 times. You can cancel your auction while nobody has bid.
The winner gets the item in the map the auction started in, the lobby or freedom fight, as soon as he is there; the seller gets the zero tokens. With no bids, the item comes back to the seller the same way.
The menu also has the last 30 finished auctions and a switch for the auction announcements.
The Web Shop
The Zero Hour Assault shop: https://audiowander.com/zero-shop/
It works with every screen reader, needs no JavaScript and has no picture puzzles.
Zero token packs come in six sizes: bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond and master token pack. Bigger packs give more bonus tokens.
A token pack arrives as a pack. Open it in the store under "View packs you bought from the shop and open them".
The shop also sells a paid account for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, a starter pack, a weekly supporter pack, the season supporter pass, XP boosts and streak savers.
It also sells cosmetic packs and the character voices.
Event points are sold in any amount you choose, from 10 to 20,000 points, at GBP 0.05 for each point. Type the number of points, then use the Show price button to hear the total before you go on to pay.
You can buy a gift for a friend: enter your friend's player name, and your friend hears who the gift is from.
The shop checks the player name against the accounts of your server before you pay.
Purchases arrive by themselves within a few seconds. If you are offline, they arrive 3 seconds after your next login.
Every purchase has an order number. You hear it in the game, and you can look it up on the shop's Your purchases page.
Game menu line "Your purchases": everything delivered to your account, and anything still on its way.
On Android you can also buy in the app: open the action menu with a 2 finger swipe down and choose "purchases".
Purchases in the app offer the six token packs, the paid account for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, the character voices Shadow, Hex, Supreme and Lord, a bundle of all four voices, a starter pack, the season supporter pass, XP boosts of 1 hour or 5 cards, streak savers, the kill sound packs Arcade and Steel, the Veteran title pack, the emote and horn pack, and event points in packs of 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1000.
Purchases in the app list only what your app store sells in your country. An item bought in the app gives exactly the same as in the web shop.
A purchase belongs to the account it was first delivered to. Restoring it on another account says "This purchase belongs to another account"; it then waits for that account, and the staff can move it to you.
Paid Account
A paid account supports the game and adds comfort and cosmetics. It never gives combat power.
Health, damage, speed, carrying limits and loot are the same for everyone.
- Kill line: a short text of your own that your victim hears.
- Last words: a short text of your own that your killer hears.
- Arrival announcement: the lobby hears that you came online, at most once an hour.
- A supporter tag behind your name in the who is online list and on your profile.
- About me: a text of up to 300 characters on your profile.
- A watchlist of 25 names instead of 10.
- Private notes about other players, up to 30, visible only to you.
- 10 sound emotes instead of 2.
- A combat log of 50 entries instead of 20.
- 2 free daily mission rerolls instead of 1.

Social Features
Chat
F11 chooses your chat language channel, and the slash key sends a message to everyone in it. There are channels for 27 languages and a free channel.
J sends to your team, apostrophe to your group, Shift+apostrophe to your community, and backslash to everyone on your map.
K replies to the last private message.
On Android, the action menu (2 finger swipe down) has every chat: group, community, map, public and team messages.
Links are switched off everywhere players can write. Only audiowander.com and nbmstudios.com can be shared.
A message with any other link is not sent, and you are told why.
When the public chat is busy, the staff can put it into slow mode: one message every few seconds per player.
Players within 8 steps hear your keyboard when your chat message arrives and while you write a private message. Switch it off in Social, Social settings.
Translation
Shift+L chooses the language your own messages are translated into. Control+Enter in a message box sends the message translated.
Alt+L chooses the language for reading. Alt+Enter translates the selected message in the chat history.
On Android, set the language in the action menu, "set translation languages", and double tap with 3 fingers to translate the selected message.
Game languages
Game menu line "languages": switch the language of the game.
Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish are fully translated: menus, messages, the store, missions, help texts and place names.
Players have translated the game into more languages, and you can help to create a new one from the same menu.
Voice chat
V: positional voice chat. Players on your map within about 30 tiles hear you from where you stand.
On Android, tap the middle of the screen with 2 fingers to switch it on or off.
B: community voice chat, heard by every member of your community wherever they are.
On Android, double tap the middle of the screen with 2 fingers to switch it on or off.
With push to talk on, hold V or B to talk; with it off, the key switches your microphone on and off. Shift+V switches push to talk.
Alt+V tells you who is speaking and lets you set their volume. The player menu (F6) also sets player volumes.
In the new game version, Alt+M mutes all voice chat until you close the game; press it again to hear it. A player whose volume you never changed plays at 100, his normal volume.
You can switch off incoming community voice chat in the notification settings.
Friends and profiles
Friends hear when you log in and out, and you can message them easily. Open the friend menu with F5.
Set your own online and offline message for your friends, up to 60 characters, in Social, Social settings.
Ignore a player: open the player menu (F6), choose the player and "Ignore this player", for 1, 6, 12 or 24 hours or for good. You no longer hear their chat, private messages, voice, typing, kill lines, last words, emotes or arrival announcements, and they are not told. The game menu line "Ignored players" lists everybody you ignore, with the time left; choose a name to stop ignoring it.
Blocking a player stops only their private messages and friend requests.
Going away: open the player menu (F6) on your own name and choose "Go away (AFK)". You can type a reason. The players list then shows "[AFK: your reason]" after your name. Anything you do brings you back. After 10 minutes without doing anything in the lobby you are marked as away by itself, and the lobby announcements about new and starting matches stop until you are back.
Shift+Enter on a friend's name shows their statistics, even when they are offline.
Game menu line "Social": who is online, friends, group tools, team-ups, commendations and your profile.
Your profile can have a motto, a favourite map and a looking for team flag. You can make your profile private.
Commend another player once a day as a good teammate, for fair play or for being helpful.
A watchlist tells you when chosen players come online.
Looking for group posts stay on the board for 10 minutes.
Veterans with 500 or more kills can sign up as mentors, and new players can ask an online mentor for help.
Groups and bases
Groups are created on the freedom fight map, in the game menu line "Group menu", for 1000 zero tokens. Group names follow the rules of character names: 3 to 20 letters of any alphabet, digits, underscore or hyphen.
Players can ask to join a group, or be invited.
The apostrophe key sends a message to your group chat, also while watching a match.
The group information menu shows the members and their total kills and deaths.
The owner can make members admins. Admins can invite and remove members, but not the owner or another admin.
Only the owner can take zero tokens out of the group, rename it, place or delete bases and delete the group. The owner can let admins publish announcements.
Group announcements keep the last 30 messages with author and date. The owner can pin up to 10 to the top. At login you hear how many are new, and the newest 3 are read to you.
Groups have a kill leaderboard, a daily goal of member kills, a list of online members and a rally message.
Every group gets a base when it is created, next to its founder and enclosed by a wall. The owner can add up to 4 more, and delete one of them from the group menu. A base attacked by outsiders in the last 24 hours cannot be deleted, and the last base can only go with the group.
Bases have chests for the members. Near a chest, Backspace puts the selected item in it, and Shift+Backspace a chosen amount.
The owner and admins see a log of who took what from each base chest, 40 lines a page, newest first. The action history can be read for each base or in general.
"Take everything" empties a base chest in one go, with the usual carry limits. The owner may use it, and at the base computer he decides whether admins or all members may too.
A closed base door opens with Shift+Enter and the base password. Only the owner and admins can change the password. Members on the base's trust list open it without the password; the owner manages the list at the base computer and can let admins manage it too.
An open door lets anyone in with Shift+Enter. The door closes again 2 seconds after it opens.
Inside, Shift+Enter at 0 0 0 of the base leaves it, or opens the door from inside. The base computer is at 30 30 0 and works only for members of the group. The base gun fires only while the base is under attack.
A base below 2000 health loses its door protection, and anyone can enter.
If all the bases of a group are destroyed, the group is deleted and the items in its chests are lost. A destroyed or deleted base takes its chest and secret safes with it, and everybody inside is put out at its door.
If you log out inside your own group's base, you come back inside it. Anybody else comes back outside, at its door.
Attack warnings name the base and its place. Group menu line "Mute attack warnings for 5 minutes" silences them for you only.
Destroying a base pays the attackers by their share of the damage, 100 zero tokens split between them, double for a group's last base, a quarter for a base less than a day old. Attackers with less than 3 percent of the damage, and attackers from a defender's device or connection, get nothing. Hand grenades, time bombs, mines, the ZK and molotov fire damage bases too.
Store items for bases: the base alarm tells online members when somebody from outside comes within 25 steps of the door or goes inside; the base charger keeps using base life amplifiers and base ammo packs from your bag while you are online; the secret safe is a password-protected storage spot inside your base that only you know.
Group war
Every week from Friday 22:00 to the next Friday 22:00, server time, groups collect points: breaking a base of another group, holding a base that took heavy damage, killing members of other groups on the freedom fight map, winning matches against real opponents, airdrops and bounties.
Groups of up to 6 members and larger groups have their own board. The top 3 of each board with at least 3 members win zero tokens for the group bank and a title for a week.
Game menu line "Group war", or "Group war" in the group menu: the boards, the time left, the rules and the last 8 weeks.
Communities
Communities are like groups without bases. Shift+apostrophe sends to the community chat, and B is the community voice chat.
Create, join and manage communities in the game menu line "community menu".
Creating a community costs 100 zero tokens for free accounts and is free for paid accounts.
Polls
Players can create polls with a title and a message. A poll has yes and no, or 2 to 6 answers of your own, with one choice or several choices per player. With several choices, choose an answer again to take your vote back.
Polls end within 24 hours. You can switch off poll notifications in the notification settings.
Staff, Reports and Support
Report a player: open the game menu and choose "Report a player to the staff".
You can also type /report, the player's name and what happened in the chat box. The staff sees your report at once.
When the staff warns, mutes, kicks or bans you, you are told the reason, how long it lasts, and where to write if you think it was a mistake.
A quiet word from the staff counts for nothing. A formal warning counts for 90 days: the second brings 1 hour without chat, the third 24 hours without chat, the fourth a 7-day ban and the fifth a permanent ban. You hear the warning and what follows in one message.
The staff list in the game menu shows who is online.
Tickets: open a ticket from the game menu line "ticket menu" for questions and problems.
Your tickets can be opened and closed only by you and by the support team.
When a ticket is closed, rate the help from 1 to 10. You must rate closed tickets before opening a new one.
Game menu line "Make suggestions, leave feedback, report bugs".
You can send 3 suggestions and 12 ticket messages every 10 minutes.
The game rules can be read from the main menu and from the game menu line "View rules".

Ignore a player: open the player menu (F6), choose the player and "Ignore this player", for 1, 6, 12 or 24 hours or for good.
Communities

Creating a community costs 100 zero tokens for free accounts and is free for paid accounts.
Polls
Players can create polls with a title and a message. A poll has yes and no, or 2 to 6 answers of your own, with one choice or several choices per player. With several choices, choose an answer again to take your vote back.
Polls end within 24 hours. You can switch off poll notifications in the notification settings.
